TelevisaUnivision – Casting Privacy Notice
Univision Communications, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively, “TelevisaUnivision,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respect your privacy. This Privacy Notice describes our practices in connection with information we collect when you apply or are being considered for our programming and/or when using our casting websites and applications (“Casting Sites”) (collectively, “Casting Process”). Specifically, this Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, and disclose information from users of our Casting Process (“User” or “You”).
This Privacy Policy does not apply when you interact with us in another capacity, including when you subscribe to our entertainment services. In that situation, our TelevisaUnivision Global Privacy Notice (https://corporate.televisaunivision.com/privacy-notice/) applies.
1. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT
A. Personal Information You Provide to Us
We collect information you provide to us as part of your application or registration process and as part of any other forms, communications, correspondence, interviews, auditions, submittals, documentation, or other media (audio, visual, photographic) you may provide to us, including:
- Contact information, such as full name, email address, postal address, phone number, mobile number, and social media handles;
- User name and password when you register for the Casting Process;
- Demographic information such as age, date of birth, gender, height, weight, number of children, marital status, occupation, employer, nationality, and citizenship;
- Contact information about others (name, relationship and phone number) when you provide information of personal contacts (parents, siblings, partners, etc.);
- Information related to your private, personal and public life, including: your interests; personal relationships; your physical appearance; personal characteristics/habits (both physical and mental); medical treatment/history (both physical and mental); sexual history; educational and employment history; military history; trade union membership; criminal history, including criminal investigations, charges and records; and personal views and opinions about life, the world, philosophical beliefs, religion, and the like;
- Evidence of age, citizenship, residency and/or work authorization including passport, driver’s license, green card, authorization document, birth certificate or Social Security number.
If we need to ask for your consent and you are under the age of consent in the relevant jurisdiction, your parent or guardian will be required to submit your information on your behalf and agree to our collection of your Information as set out in this Privacy Notice.
B. Personal Information We Collect When You Use our Casting Sites
Device Information. We may receive information about the device and software you use to access our Casting Sites, including IP address, device ID, web browser type, operating system version, phone carrier and manufacturer, your network, network devices and device identifiers.
Usage Information. To help us understand how you use our Casting Sites and to help us improve the Casting Process, we may automatically receive information about your interactions with our Casting Sites, including the videos and content you view on our Casting Sites, how you interact with our Casting Sites, the pages or other content you view, usage data when you use our apps, the searches you conduct, your comments, and the dates and times of your visits.
Location Information. When you use our Casting Sites, we may receive your location information, which may include the city, state, zip code, or other general location information inferred from your IP address or derived from Wi-Fi or GPS signals.
Some of this information may be collected directly by us or third-party partners via cookies, pixel tags, or similar technologies. To the extent that we collect data in this way, we will offer controls that allow you to modify your cookie settings. To access those controls when they are implemented, please visit the privacy menu/footer of our Casting Sites.
C. Information We Receive from Third Parties
We may utilize third parties to assist in collecting information from you for purposes described in this Privacy Notice. We receive information such as geodemographic information, income level, and professional and employment-related information from third-party sources like social media companies, publicly available databases, and publicly-observed data from you, such as activities on social media, blogs, videos and other online postings. We may also collect data from third parties when you authorize such parties to submit information on your behalf or authorize us to collect information from them (e.g., agencies/talent managers, health/benefit providers, insurance companies, references and background checks).
2. HOW WE MAY USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We use personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice and as further disclosed to you. We may use your personal information to:
- Evaluate your application for the programming you have applied for: Fulfill your request for products, services, and information and facilitate the application, audition and casting process, including assessing your character, fit, fitness, and legal right to participate in the production. This may include, performing identity verification and reference checks, credit references, and/or background checks. Background checks will be carried out only to the extent permitted by and in compliance with applicable law.
- Communicate: Communicate with you about your application and the Casting Process, including to inform you of upcoming audition or casting opportunities;
- Health, safety and security: As necessary to maintain the health, safety, and security of our workforce and the workplace, and to safeguard our assets, interests, and legal rights.
- Compliance with legal and regulatory obligations: We may process your personal information to comply with our regulatory requirements, to enforce our Terms and Conditions, or in connection with inquiries from regulators, law enforcement agencies, or parties involved in litigation, in each case anywhere in the world.
- Prevent fraud and security Incidents: Detect, investigate, protect against, and prevent fraud, and other legal or information security risks;
- Other purposes: For other purposes that we notify you of or to which you consent, in compliance with applicable law.
3. HOW WE DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We do not disclose personal information we collect from or about you except as described below or otherwise disclosed to you at the time of the collection.
Service Providers. We may disclose your personal information to service providers rendering services on our behalf (“Service Providers”). Service Providers are companies that we engage to conduct activities on our behalf, such as application and audition processing, casting agencies, the production team, co-producers, broadcasters, distributors, investors, insurers, travel and medical service providers; auditing and accounting, professional services, measurement and analytics services, security and fraud prevention, maintenance and hosting of our systems, and IT. Service providers are restricted from using personal information for any purpose that is not related to our engagement.
Development and Production Teams. We may share certain personal information such as your name, email address and/or such other chosen method of communication with development and/or production teams, commissioning broadcasters and/or distributors to contact you about potential opportunities with other productions, unless you have told us that you don’t want us to.
Analytics Partners. We use analytics services such as Google Analytics to collect and process certain analytics data. You can learn more about Google’s practices by visiting https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.
We may also use Google’s invisible reCAPTCHA application in our Casting Process in order to protect against spam and other automated abuse. The reCAPTCHA tool may make use of cookies, as well as other personal information like IP address, date, time, language, screen size and resolution, and mouse movements. The use of the reCAPTCHA tool and any personal information collected through the tool are subject to Google’s privacy policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy, and Google’s terms of service, available at https://policies.google.com/terms?hl=en.
As Required By Law and Similar Disclosures. We may access, preserve, and disclose your personal information if we believe doing so is required or appropriate to: (a) comply with law enforcement requests and legal process, such as a court order or subpoena; (b) respond to your requests; (c) protect your, our, or others’ rights, property, or safety; or (d) during emergency situations or where necessary to protect the safety of persons. For the avoidance of doubt, the disclosure of your personal information may occur if you post any objectionable content on or through the Casting Process.
Merger, Sale, or Other Asset Transfers. We may transfer your personal information to Service Providers, advisors, potential transactional partners, or other third parties in connection with the consideration, negotiation, or completion of a corporate transaction in which we are acquired by or merged with another company or we sell, liquidate, or transfer all or a portion of our assets. The use of your personal information following any of these events will be governed by the provisions of this Privacy Notice in effect at the time the applicable personal information was collected.
Consent. We may also disclose your personal information with your permission.
4. CHOICES
Opt out of TelevisaUnivision’s Marketing and Promotional Communications. To opt out of TelevisaUnivision’s marketing and promotional communications, follow the below instructions:
- To opt out of marketing emails, you can use the opt-out means described in the marketing email (e.g., using an “unsubscribe” link).
- To opt out of text messages, you can use the opt-out means described in the text message (e.g., replying “STOP” or “STOP ALL” to the number provided to you in the text message.
- Submit a request by emailing Privacy@TelevisaUnivision.com from your e-mail account.
5. SECURITY
We make reasonable efforts to protect your personal information by using physical and electronic safeguards designed to improve the security of the personal information we maintain. However, as no electronic transmission or storage of personal information can be entirely secure, we can make no guarantees as to the security or privacy of your personal information.
6. CHILDREN
We do not knowingly collect or store personal information or accept applications from children under the age of thirteen (13).
7. DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information for as long as needed or permitted in light of the purpose(s) for which it was obtained and consistent with applicable law. The criteria used to determine our retention periods for each category of personal information include:
- The length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you and provide the Casting Process to you and the length of time thereafter during which we may have a legitimate need to reference your personal information to address issues that may arise;
- Whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject (for example, certain laws require us to keep records of your transactions for a certain period of time before we can delete them);
- Whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject that requires us to delete personal information after a certain period of time; and
- The length of time we use the personal information to detect and prevent fraud.
8. JURISDICTION AND CROSS-BORDER TRANSFER
Your personal information may be stored and processed in any country where we have facilities or in which we engage Service Providers, and by using the Casting Process you understand that your personal information will be transferred to countries outside of your country of residence, including the United States, Mexico, and any other countries in which we or our Service Providers operate, which may have data protection rules that are different from those of your country. In certain circumstances, courts, law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies or security authorities in those other countries may be entitled to access your personal information.

- Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity Information, such as content browsing history, content search history, and other interactions with our Casting Process
- Geolocation Data, such as tracking building and office entry when you visit our locations.
- Audio, Electronic, Visual, or Similar Information, such as video and photographs submitted and taken during any auditions; video taken by security cameras if you visit our offices.
- Professional or Employment-Related Information, such as title and compensation history, work schedule and status, work experience, education, licensure and other credentials, benefits and leave information, work/residence permits, information related to contests and information related to any legal issues or disputes that may arise.
- Non-Public Education Information (as defined in 20 U.S.C. 1232g; 34 C.F.R. Part 99), such as education records, grades or transcripts.
- Inferences Drawn from Personal Information, such as profiles reflecting your preferences, characteristics, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes.
- Sensitive Personal Information, such as government-issued IDs (Social Security numbers, visa and passport information), racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, or union membership, information related to sex life/sexual orientation and health information.

- Compliance with Legal and Regulatory Obligations: We may process your personal information to comply with our regulatory requirements, to enforce our Terms and Conditions, or in connection with inquiries from regulators, law enforcement agencies, or parties involved in litigation, in each case anywhere in the world.
- Preventing Fraud and Security Incidents: Detect, investigate, protect against, and prevent fraud, and other legal or information security risks.
- Other Purposes: For other purposes that we notify you of or to which you consent, in compliance with applicable law.
D. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may exercise the following rights.
- Right to Know and Access. You may submit a verifiable request for information regarding the: (1) categories of personal information collected or disclosed by us; (2) purposes for which categories of personal information are collected by us; (3) categories of sources from which we collect personal information; (4) categories of third parties to whom we disclosed personal information; and (5) specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete. Subject to certain exceptions, you may submit a verifiable request that we delete personal information about you that we have collected from you.
- Right to Correct. You have the right to correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you.
- Right to Equal Treatment. You have the right to receive non-discriminatory treatment for the exercise of your CCPA privacy rights, subject to certain limitations.
You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information. However, we do not sell or share personal information covered by this Privacy Notice.
You have the right to request, in certain circumstances, that we limit the processing of your sensitive personal information. However, we do not process your sensitive personal information in circumstances that would be subject to the right to limit.
Verification. Requests to know or access, delete, or correct personal information are subject to our ability to reasonably verify your identity in light of the right and information we maintain pursuant to relevant CCPA requirements, limitations, and regulations. We may need to take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to your request. Specifically, we (or our Service Provider acting on our behalf) may need to collect additional information necessary to confirm your identity. Such information will be securely processed in accordance with this Privacy Notice and only used for the purpose of verifying your identity.

Authorizing an Agent. If you are acting as an authorized agent to make a request to know, delete, correct, or opt out on behalf of a California resident, you may submit a request by emailing Privacy@TelevisaUnivision.com or reviewing the information at https://www.univision.com/global/privacy-requests. Please note that we will require you to attach proof of power of attorney or a written authorization signed by the resident whose personal information will be subject to the request.
