Univision Communications, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively, “TelevisaUnivision,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respect your privacy. This Job Candidate Notice at Collection (“Notice”) applies to personal information we collect from or about our California job applicants (collectively, “you,” “your,” or “job applicant”) in the context of your application for employment or other similar relationship with us. Additional notices may apply to your other relationships with us, such as the Employee Privacy Notice located here and the consumer Privacy Notice at https://corporate.televisaunivision.com/privacy-policy/.
1. Sources of Personal Information We Collect
We collect, or have collected, in the preceding 12 months, personal information from the following categories of sources:
- Directly from you, during the recruitment process (e.g., the application form that you complete during the recruitment process, your resume, in interviews or through the completion of any tests or surveys, or otherwise provide personal information to a representative of the Company);
- From third parties, when you authorize such parties to submit information on your behalf (e.g. recruiters) or authorize us to collect information (e.g., references and background checks);
- Created by us, when we review your job application or interview you; and
- Automatically, when you physically enter a location or office.
If you submit an application through a third-party job posting service, please be advised that we do not control the privacy practices of these services. Please review their privacy policies carefully prior to providing application information.
2. Collection of Personal Information
The chart below provides the categories of personal information we collect or disclose for a business purpose in the context of your application for employment with us, both currently and in the preceding 12 months. These examples of personal information listed below are illustrative and do not represent a complete description of the data elements we process.

3. Use of Personal Information
All categories of information listed above are used for the following business purposes:
- To conduct our hiring process. We use your information to evaluate your qualifications for the job you applied for or future jobs that may match your profile, and to communicate with you regarding your job application or other inquiries and requests.
- To evaluate the effectiveness of our hiring practices. We may use your information to support our efforts to create and maintain a diverse workforce or otherwise analyze our practices.
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations. We may process your information to comply with our legal or regulatory requirements or in connection with inquiries from regulators, law enforcement agencies, or parties involved in litigation, in each case anywhere in the world.
- As necessary to maintain the health, safety, and security of our workforce and the workplace, and to safeguard our assets, interests, and legal rights.
4. Disclosure of Personal Information
We may disclose your personal information to service providers rendering services on our behalf (“Service Providers”). Service Providers are companies that we engage to conduct activities on our behalf, such as application processing, recruitment, auditing and accounting, professional services, security and fraud prevention, maintenance and hosting of our systems, and IT. Service providers are restricted from using personal information for any purpose that is not related to our engagement.
We may share your personal information where necessary to comply with applicable law, to respond to requests from regulatory authorities (including tax authorities), government agencies, and parties (including Company’s legal or other advisors) in legal proceedings, or to enforce our rights under our terms of service and policies.
We may also share your information:
- During emergency situations or where necessary to protect the safety of persons
- To other entities in our corporate family, for purposes consistent with this Notice
- If a business transfer, merger, sale, or other change in ownership occurs\
5. Retention of Your Information
We retain personal information for as long as needed or permitted in light of the purpose(s) for which it was obtained and consistent with applicable law. The criteria used to determine our retention periods for each category of personal information include:
- The length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you and the length of time thereafter during which we may have a legitimate need to reference your personal information to address issues that may arise;
- Whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject that requires us to retain information for, or delete information after, a certain period of time; and
- The length of time we use the information to detect and prevent fraud and security incidents.
Individual pieces of personal information may exist in different systems that are used for different business or legal purposes. A different maximum retention period may apply to each use case of the information. Certain individual pieces of information may also be stored in combination with other individual pieces of information, and the maximum retention period may be determined by the purpose for which that information set is used.
6. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of California, you have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, to receive notice of the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which those categories of personal information will be used, and how we determine the length of time for which the personal information is maintained. You are also entitled to receive notice regarding your rights under the CCPA. To the extent that we collect personal information relating to you in your capacity as an applicant for employment by TelevisaUnivision, that is subject to the CCPA, that information and our practices are described above.
California job applicants may exercise the following rights:
- Right to Know or Access. You may submit a verifiable request for information regarding the: (1) categories of personal information collected or disclosed by us; (2) purposes for which categories of personal information are collected by us; (3) categories of sources from which we collect personal information; (4) categories of third parties to whom we disclosed personal information; and (5) specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete. Subject to certain exceptions, you may submit a verifiable request that we delete personal information about you that we have collected from you.
- Right to Correct. You have the right to correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you.
- Right to Equal Treatment. You have the right to receive non-discriminatory treatment for the exercise of your CCPA privacy rights, subject to certain limitations.
The law also requires us to list the categories of third parties to whom we “sell” or “share” personal information. Under the CCPA, a business “sells” personal information when it discloses personal information to a company for monetary or other benefit. We do not sell personal information relating to our job applicants.
You have the right to request, in certain circumstances, that we limit the processing of your sensitive personal information. However, we do not process your sensitive personal information in circumstances that would be subject to the right to limit.
Verification. Requests to know or access, delete, or correct personal information are subject to our ability to reasonably verify your identity in light of the right and information we maintain pursuant to relevant CCPA requirements, limitations, and regulations. We may need to take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to your request. Specifically, we (or our Service Provider acting on our behalf) may need to collect additional information necessary to confirm your identity. Such information will be securely processed in accordance with this Notice and only used for the purpose of verifying your identity.

These rights are not absolute. In some instances, we may decline to honor your request where the law or right you are invoking does not apply or where an exception applies.
Authorizing an Agent. If you are acting as an authorized agent to make a request to know or access, delete, or correct on behalf of a California resident, please submit your request by emailing us at Privacy@TelevisaUnivision.com or visiting www.univision.com/global/privacy-requests. Please note that we will require you to attach proof of written authorization signed by the employee whose Personal Information will be subject to the request.
