Last month, under our empowerment platform Univision Contigo (Univision with You), and together with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Univision held 13 prosperity fairs across its major markets. The events were aimed at helping our community increase its financial prosperity. The campaign also celebrated the entrepreneurial spirit of the community by providing essential information and expanded resources to start and grow successful businesses.
We’re pleased to report that more than 40,000 attendees and close to 3,000 small business owners participated in prosperity fairs and entrepreneurship-focused events throughout the month. Univision Los Angeles alone held two Prosperity Fairs in Southern California where 9,700 participants attended dozens of workshops and town halls on a variety of topics of importance to business owners and their families.
The success of these events and the vast attendance demonstrate the interest of our community in growing their knowledge on the path to financial prosperity and Latinos today are a powerful and growing force in America’s economic life. Furthermore, these events were important investments in raising the awareness and skills of this aspiring community.
