Oh right, and Telemundo too

Como se dice: “Take a backseat”? Univision and its “2019 Premios Juventud” awards show topped all of the English-language broadcast channels in Thursday’s primetime ratings. And yes, it beat Telemundo too.
That means CBS, which topped last night in terms of total viewers, tied with Fox for second place among adults 18-49, the key demographic for advertisers on broadcast entertainment shows.
Univision was first in ratings with a 0.7 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, but fifth in total viewers with an average of 1.8 million, according to preliminary numbers. The music awards show was the only telecast on its schedule, averaging those Nielsen numbers.
CBS and Fox tied for second in ratings, both with a 0.6. CBS had a 4 share, Fox had a 3. CBS was first in total viewers with 3 million, Fox was second with 2.7 million.
For CBS, “Love Island” at 8 p.m. had a 0.5/3 and 2.3 million viewers. At 9, “Big Brother” landed a 1.0/5 and 3.8 million viewers. “Elementary” at 10 got a 0.5/3 and 2.8 million viewers.
For Fox, “MasterChef” at 8 received a 0.7/4 and 2.9 million viewers. At 9, “Spin the Wheel” had a 0.5/3 and 2.5 million viewers.
Univision wasn’t the only Spanish-language broadcaster that broke up the English-language party.
Telemundo was fourth in ratings with a 0.5/3 and sixth in viewers with 1.4 million. The *other* Spanish-language broadcast network snuck in here thanks to Kate del Castillo’s highly rated series, “La Reina Del Sur,” which got a 0.7/4 and 1.7 million viewers at 10 o’clock.
NBC and ABC tied for fifth in ratings, both with a 0.4/2. NBC was third in total viewers with 2.6 million, ABC was fourth with 2.3 million.
For NBC, between repeats, “Hollywood Game Night” at 9 received a 0.5/2 and 2.4 million viewers.
For ABC, “Holey Moley” at 8 had a 0.6/3 and 3.2 million viewers. At 9, “Family Food Fight” settled for a 0.3/2 and 1.8 million viewers. “Reef Break” at 10 managed a 0.3/1 and 1.8 million viewers.
The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 644,000. At 8, “iZombie” got a 0.2/1 and 732,000 viewers. “The Outpost” at 9 fared even more poorly, with just a 0.1/1 and 556,000 viewers.
