Rapid TV News: Univision Claims Ratings Clean Sweep in Major US Cities

With the May sweep period coming to a close, stations operated by Univision are claiming to have delivered audience wins in major markets all across the US.

Quoting Nielsen data, the station said that KMEX Univision 34 continued to command the airwaves in Los Angeles finishing the May sweep as in total day among adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and adults 18-34, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW, and ended the period in second place in total day ratings among total viewers 2+. In primetime, KMEX ranked No. 1 in the time period among adults 25-54 and second with adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

KMEX also finished first among total viewers 2+, adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and adults 18-34, and ranked no. 1 among adults 18-49 for the 25th consecutive year. The station also delivered the most Adults 18-49, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-34 in the market during late news and closed the period second among total viewers 2+.

New York’s WXTV Univision 41 outperformed CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-49 in total day and primetime. For news, WXTV is said to have reached more adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and adults 18-34 during its early news telecasts than the aforementioned rivals. Meanwhile, the station’s late news ranked second among Adults 18-34.
