Meteorologist Albert Martínez is leaving the Univision Weather Center in Houston to move up to the network as chief meteorologist and principal weather anchor for “Despierta América.”
He joins the network morning show starting March 4.
Martínez has been based in Houston since 2016 as chief meteorologist for Univision Local Media, leading and coordinating all local weather teams for Univision’s local stations.
He was also principal weather anchor and meteorologist for Univision 23 Dallas, where he started his U.S. broadcast career in 2013.
Before that, he worked as a meteorologist and weather anchor at RTVE in his native country of Spain.
