Univision’s coverage of the UEFA Champions League broke viewing records with Tuesday’s Liverpool-Paris St. Germain and Barcelona-PSV games the two most-watched games ever in the group stage on U.S. television.

The Liverpool-PSG game, decided in the Reds’ favor in stoppage time, averaged 672,000 viewers while the Barcelona-PSV match earlier on Tuesday averaged 618,000 viewers. (UEFA has introduced two early kickoffs on Tuesday.)

Univision noted the high number of female viewers: 34 percent and 36 percent of adults 18-49 for the two games.

Univision Deportes acquired the Spanish-language rights for three seasons, beginning in 2018-19. Turner Sports has the English-language. Previously, Fox Sports held all U.S. media rights though it often sub-licensed matches to ESPN.
