Univision announces season two of La Piloto. This original production from W Studios starring Livia Brito, Arap Bethke, and Juan Colucho is cleared for takeoff with new characters and more action than ever.
La Piloto will debut on the Univision Network with a simulcast premiere on UniMás, Sunday, July 29, at 10pm ET/PT 9pm CT, then air in its regular timeslot at 10pm Monday through Friday on Univision.
Inspired by real-life events, La Piloto is a continuation of the story of Yolanda Cadena (Livia Brito), a young woman whose dream of becoming a pilot comes true, but not in the way she would have hoped.
Season 2 picks up Yolanda’s story three years after the first season’s finale. Yolanda gets out of prison under the witness protection program and finds a job as a pilot with US-FLY airlines. However, on the verge of marriage and starting a family, her quiet life falls apart when the child she is hoping to adopt is kidnaped. To recover her family, Yolanda will have to ask help from John Lucio (Arap Bethke), the same man who not only betrayed her but also broke her heart.
Daddy Yankee and Natti Natasha perform the remake of Buena Vida, the series theme song. The official music video produced by Univision Music in collaboration with the urban music artists was filmed in Puerto Rico and is available on Daddy Yankee’s YouTube channel.
Produced by Lemon Films for W Studios and Univision, La Piloto was created by Jörg Hiller, the writer of Tiro de Gracia and Porque el Amor Manda.
The La Piloto returning cast also includes Tommy Vásquez, Stephanie Salas, and Nico Galán, as well as new cast members Margarita Muñoz, Oka Giner, Paulo Quevedo, María de la Fuente, Mikael Lacko, Julio Echeverry, Lisardo, Ilza Ponko, and Mauricio Pimentel.
