Billboard is exclusively announcing the initial lineup of artists set to perform at Univision’s 2018 Premios Juventud (Youth Awards), airing live July 22 from the Watsco Center in Miami, Fla.
Ozuna, Carlos Rivera, CNCO, Jacob Forver, Kany García, Zion y Lennox and Johann Vera are all expected to take the stage. Additionally, Sofía Reyes, Jason Derulo and De La Ghetto will perform their hit song “1, 2, 3” for the first time in the U.S.
This year’s ceremony marks the first time Premios Juventud will take place on a Sunday, rather than the traditional Thursday night. It’s also the first time artists will be recognized not with voted-upon awards but with special honors, much like Univision’s Premios Lo Nuestro did at the beginning of the year.
While the awards intend to celebrate Generation Z and youth culture, its lineup of performers will span genres to appeal to a Sunday night family audience. And at a time of unprecedented social activism from Latin acts, the awards will, like last year, showcase young leaders who are agents of change in their communities.
