Univision Networks is claiming that its live coverage across linear and digital made it the destination of choice of Spanish-speaking America for the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
On linear, Univision said that Nielsen NPM data revealed that it delivered more adults aged 18-49, adults aged 18-34 and total viewers older than two than arch-rival Telemundo’s coverage. Univision Digital Entertainment experienced what was claimed to be record-breaking traffic, generating 20 million total page views for the weekend of May 19-20.
“We are very proud that Hispanic America chose Univision to watch the Royal Wedding,” said Luz Maria Doria, vice president and executive producer of Despierta America, Univision Communications.
“Maria Antonieta Collins, Tanya Charry, Maity Interiano and Tony Dandrades, reporting out of London and led by Yuri Cordero, did an excellent job of covering the numerous storylines of this galvanising event as it unfolded in real time.”
