Univision Communications today announced that Margaret Lazo is joining the company as chief human resources officer, starting April 11.
She will be based in New York and report to Randy Falco, president-CEO. Roberto Llamas, who previously served as EVP of human resources and community empowerment, resigned from the company to pursue other opportunities.

Among her contributions at NBC Universal, Lazo drove integration and change management plans following the company’s acquisition by Comcast, led organizational simplification initiatives and facilitated a number of leadership transitions.
She served as the HR functional acquisition integration leader supporting NBC’s purchase of Telemundo in 2001 and was a key contributor to shaping Telemundo’s business strategy following the acquisition, including the startup of content production studios in the US and Latin America.
Lazo began her career working in human resources management at Macy’s. She graduated cum laude from St. John’s University with a degree in communications.
