Univision Communications Inc. today promoted Jorge Dominguez to SVP of art and design. Dominguez will remain based in Miami and continue to report to Jessica Rodriguez, the company’s EVP-chief marketing officer.
Dominguez has been part of UCI for nearly 30 years. He most recently served as VP of art design and before that as on-air creative director. In 1990, he was involved in the creation of Univision’s original logo and became an important asset in the conception and rollout of the logo’s 2013 redesign.
Leading a team of more than 50 designers, Dominguez has been involved in the development and execution of Univision Deportes Network and UniMás Network, in addition to being at the forefront of set, graphic design and art direction for each Upfront presentation the company has hosted.
With his team, Dominguez has also been central to the brand creation of digital products, Univision Novelas App and Univision Conecta.
Prior to joining UCI, Dominguez was a freelance art director with Turner Sports, supporting the Goodwill Games in St. Petersburg, Russia. He has also held art director and senior designer positions at Miami television stations.
He has received 12 Emmy awards, four BDA Gold awards, six BDA Silver awards, nine BDA Bronze awards and a Telly Silver award.
