Univision Ups Roberto Ruiz To Strategy EVP

Univision Communications Inc. today promoted Roberto Ruiz to executive vice president, strategy and insights, effective immediately. Ruiz will continue to report to Kevin Conroy, chief strategy and data officer and president, enterprise development, and will remain based in New York.

Ruiz first joined UCI in 2008 as vice president of strategy and insights, where he has led a team of marketers to help advertisers and partners better understand and capitalize on the growing U.S. Hispanic population. Leveraging syndicated and custom research tools, the team provides research and consumer insights and helps build the business case for brands looking to engage Hispanic consumers. Additionally, Ruiz has worked closely with research partners to improve the way their syndicated products represent the Hispanic consumer.

Ruiz is a marketing expert with more than 20 years of experience in senior management roles; he has worked in several industries including financial services, interactive, advertising, consulting, startups and packaged goods.

Previously, Ruiz served as the founder and president of Consumer Contacts, a boutique consulting firm specializing in Hispanic marketing, and was founding partner at The Vidal Partnership, a Hispanic advertising agency in New York which grew from a mid-sized agency to a powerhouse recognized twice by Advertising Age as Agency of the Year.

Ruiz holds an MBA in international business and a MA in international economics from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Universidad Central de Venezuela.
