Conde Nast’s ‘The Scene’ Inks Syndication and Development Deal with Univision’s ‘Flama’

By Jocelyn Johnson

Depending on the reporting site, Conde Nast has accumulated between 2.5 million and 4.1 million monthly unique users on its video content hub, The Scene.* Home to hundreds of premium series and videos from Conde Nast’s own publishing brands like Glamour, Wired and Bon Appetite, The Scene has also bolstered its library through syndication deals with ABC News, BuzzFeed, PBS Digital Studios, and now Univision’s digital platform, Flama, which will be making over 100 episodes of premium video content available.

In addition to the syndication relationship, Flama and Conde Nast will likely co-develop projects as well moving forward, though at present, no such projects have been committed.

Flama, which produces its own slate of programming targeted at the bilingual hispanic community, has syndication deals with Hulu and Univision’s bilingual digital video network, UVideos. Flama also windows content onto YouTube and Facebook.

In addition to content developed by partners and Conde Nast’s publishing brands, CNE has also produced a slate of programming under “The Scene Presents…” which includes shows created specifically for distribution on The Scene. Some of these series include “HeyUSA,” featuring YouTube stars Grace Helbig and Mamrie Hart, and Morgan Spurlock’s “We the Economy.”
