TelevisaUnivision’s ViX+ Inks First-Look Deal with Propagate Fuego to Produce Spanish-Language Original Content
MIAMI – MARCH 23, 2022 – TelevisaUnivision Inc. the world’s leading Spanish-language media and content company, today announced a first-look deal with Propagate Fuego to produce Spanish-language original scripted and unscripted content for ViX+, the company’s new SVOD tier slated to launch in the second half of 2022.
Under the agreement, TelevisaUnivision will have exclusive first-look rights to all content developed by Propagate Fuego, Propagate’s recently launched Spanish-language production division. The deal also includes a development fund for options, writers, formats and scripts. Propagate chairman and co-CEO Ben Silverman (“The Office,” “Jane the Virgin,” “Ugly Betty”) will serve as executive producer on all projects developed and produced under the Propagate Fuego deal.

The deal marks the first partnership for Propagate Fuego, which launched earlier this year and is focused on producing and developing original scripted and unscripted content and formats for the Spanish-language markets around the world with a specific focus on the Americas. Propagate Fuego is run by Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Isabel San Vargas, Catalina Ramirez, Rodney Ferrell, and Cyrus Farrokh.

As part of a prior negotiation, “Pinches Momias” will be shooting this summer. The first Propagate series to land on ViX+ is a young adult series that follows a group of troubled teenagers from Guanajuato who become their town’s only hope of survival when its renowned mummies come back from the dead during the busiest week of the year. Created by Santiago Limón and Jose Miguel Nuñez, with Limón serving as Director and Showrunner, the series is executive produced by Silverman, Owens, and Rodney Ferrell. Propagate Fuego and Perro Azul are producing the project.
TelevisaUnivision recently unveiled its upcoming Spanish-Language streaming service, ViX. The service, which launches on March 31st, is set to be the world’s largest Spanish-Language streaming service, offering more than 50,000 hours of Spanish-language entertainment, sports, and news in its first year alone across the two-tier service, ViX (AVOD) and ViX+ (SVOD).
ViX will be easily accessible for everyone across all major platforms in 19 territories, including the U.S., Mexico, and most of Spanish-speaking Latin America. The SVOD service, ViX+, will launch in the second half of the year.

ViX+ de TelevisaUnivision Firma Acuerdo de Acceso Preferencial con Propagate Fuego para Producir Contenido Original en Español
MIAMI –23 DE MARZO DE 2022– TelevisaUnivision Inc. la principal empresa de medios y contenido en español en Estados Unidos, anunció hoy un acuerdo de acceso preferencial (first look) con Propagate Fuego para producir contenido original en español con y sin guion para ViX+, el nuevo servicio premium con suscripción (SVOD) que se tiene programado lanzar en el segundo semestre de 2022.
Conforme al acuerdo, TelevisaUnivision tendrá derechos exclusivos de first look a todo el contenido creado por Propagate Fuego, la división de producción en español que Propagate lanzó recientemente. El acuerdo también incluye un fondo de desarrollo para opciones, guionistas, formatos y guiones. El presidente de la junta directiva y copresidente ejecutivo de Propagate, Ben Silverman (“The Office”, “Jane the Virgin”, “Ugly Betty”) se desempeñará como productor ejecutivo de todos los proyectos creados y producidos bajo el acuerdo con Propagate Fuego.

El acuerdo representa la primera alianza para Propagate Fuego, que se lanzó este año y se dedica a producir y crear contenido y formatos originales con y sin guion para los mercados hispanohablantes del mundo, con particular atención al continente americano. Como parte de una negociación previa, “Pinches momias” se filmará en el verano. La primera serie de Propagate que saldrá en ViX+ es una serie juvenil sobre un grupo de adolescentes con problemas de Guanajuato que pasan a ser la única esperanza que tiene su pueblo de sobrevivir cuando sus conocidas momias resucitan entre los muertos durante la semana más ajetreada del año. La serie, creada por Santiago Limón y José Miguel Núñez, y que Limón dirigirá y producirá, contará con Silverman, Owens y Rodney Ferrell como productores ejecutivos. Propagate Fuego y Perro Azul producirán el proyecto.
TelevisaUnivision dio a conocer recientemente su próximo servicio de streaming en español, ViX. El servicio, que se lanzará el 31 de marzo, está en vías de ser el mayor servicio de streaming en español del mundo y ofrecerá más de 50,000 horas de entretenimiento, deportes y noticias en español apenas durante su primer año en su servicio de dos niveles, ViX (AVOD) y ViX+ (SVOD).
Todos tendrán fácil acceso a ViX en las principales plataformas en 19 territorios, entre ellos Estados Unidos, México y la mayoría de los países de hispanohablantes de Latinoamérica. El servicio SVOD, ViX+, se lanzará en el segundo semestre de este año.
