Univision Ranks as the No. 1 Broadcast Network in Weeknight Primetime, Outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW Among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

MIAMI – JANUARY 21, 2022 — Univision, the leading Spanish-language media and content company in the U.S., today announced that during the week of January 10, 2022, to January 16, 2022, it finished as the No. 1 Broadcast Network outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW during weeknight primetime among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

Univision also saw impressive audience growth as it delivered double-digit primetime audience increases from the comparable week in 2021 among Total Viewers 2+ (+25% to 1.6 million), Adults 18-49 (+49% to 658,000) and Adults 18-34 (+46% to 245,000).

Univision Network Primetime Highlights – Week of January 10, 2022, to January 16, 2022

• Univision captured the No. 1 broadcast network ranking during weeknight primetime, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

o At 8 p.m., “La Rosa de Guadalupe” delivered 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 746,000 Adults 18-49 and 304,000 Adults 18-34 and made Univision the No. 1 broadcast network, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-34. “La Rosa de Guadalupe” also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-to-triple audience advantages over Telemundo in the weeknight 8 p.m. hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+51% advantage), Adults 18-49 (+98% advantage) and Adults 18-34 (+141% advantage).

o At 9 p.m., “Vencer el Pasado” averaged its highest-rated weekly performance with 1.9 million Total Viewers 2+, 799,000 Adults 18-49 and 284,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision as the No. 1 broadcast network with Adults 18-34 as well as No. 2 ahead of ABC, CBS, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-49. “Vencer el Pasado” also outperformed Telemundo’s “Hercai: Amor y Venganza II” with double-to-triple digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+65% advantage), Adults 18-49 (+106% advantage) and Adults 18-34 (+125% advantage).

o At 10 p.m., “Madre” attracted 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 698,000 Adults 18-49 and 262,000 Adults 18-34 during its premiere week, making Univision the No. 1 broadcast network ahead of ABC, CBS and NBC with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. “Madre” also delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+43%), Adults 18-49 (+74%) and Adults 18-34 (+115%) to the network’s weeknight 10 p.m. hour from the comparable week last year while also doubled the audience levels of Telemundo’s “Malverde: El Santo Patron” across all three demographics.

• Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every single night last week among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

• Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime across all seventeen weeks of the current 2021/2022 season thus far with double-to-triple digit audience advantages over Telemundo this past week among Total Viewers 2+ (+74% advantage), Adults 18-49 (+101% advantage) and Adults 18-34 (+121% advantage). Last week also marked the 112th consecutive week that Univision has out-delivered Telemundo during primetime across all three key demographics.

• On Saturday night, Univision finished ahead of ABC and FOX among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 with live coverage of Liga MX. The back-to-back soccer matchups of Tigres UANL vs. Puebla and Cruz Azul vs. FC Juarez, delivered an average audience of 697,000 Total Viewers 2+, 324,000 Adults 18-49 and 115,000 Adults 18-34. The sports event drew in more Total Viewers 2+ (+20%), Adults 18-49 (+21%) and Adults 18-34 (+8%) to the network’s 8:00 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. time slot from the comparable Saturday last year while also ranked among the top 10 most-watched programs on all of television on Saturday night with the key 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 demographics.

• Sunday night’s second airing of the third installment of “¿Quién Es la Máscara?” attracted 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 545,000 Adults 18-49 and 194,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision ahead of ABC, FOX and The CW during the 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot as well as for the entire night with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The reality competition series averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+21%), Adults 18-49 (+13%) and Adults 18-34 (+3%) than the comparable airing of its previous season while also delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+51%), Adults 18-49 (+88%) and Adults 18-34 (+54%) to the network’s 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot from the comparable Sunday in 2021. “¿Quién Es la Máscara?” also propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the third consecutive Sunday night with tripled the audience levels of Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
