Univision Out-Delivers NBC During Primetime For Second Consecutive Week With Young Adults 18-34
Univision Ranks as the No. 1 Spanish-Language Network for 20th Consecutive Week in the Current 2020/2021 Season
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of February 1, 2021 to February 7, 2021
- On Sunday night, the two-hour finale of “Imperio de Mentiras” delivered 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 466,000 Adults 18-49 and 159,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision as the No 2 broadcast network for the entire night, outperforming ABC, NBC, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. “Imperio de Mentiras” increased its audience by double-digits in the last hour compared to the first hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+31%), Adults 18-49 (+36%) and Adults 18-34 (+23%) and outperformed Telemundo’s entire primetime line-up consisting of “Exatlon: Estados Unidos” and “Cine Telemundo-American Assassin” across all three demographics. “Imperio de Mentiras” also propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+ (+53% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+27% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+25% adv.). This marked the twentieth consecutive Sunday night in the current 2020/2021 season that Univision has out-delivered Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+.
- Univision finished ahead of NBC and FOX on Saturday night among Adults 18-34 and outperformed NBC among Adults 18-49 with live coverage of Liga MX. This marked the third consecutive Saturday night that Univision outperformed NBC for the entire night with Adults 18-34. The soccer matchup of América vs. Puebla delivered an average audience of 900,000 Total Viewers 2+, 409,000 Adults 18-49 and 156,000 Adults 18-34 and drove Univision to the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Adults 18-49 (+21% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+14% adv.)
- For the entire week, Univision finished as the fourth most-watched broadcast network during primetime, out-delivering NBC and The CW for the second consecutive week with 176,000 Adults 18-34 and the fifth most-watched broadcast network, out-delivering The CW with 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+ and 478,000 Adults 18-49.
- Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights among Adults 18-49 and on every night last week for the second consecutive week among Adults 18-34.
- Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime for the twentieth consecutive week in the current 2020/2021 season with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+40% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+27% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+17% adv.).
- Airing weeknights at 8 p.m., “Vencer el Desamor” delivered 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 608,000 Adults 18-49 and 242,000 Adults 18-34 and drove Univision to a third-place finish on broadcast television, out-delivering CBS, NBC, The CW and Telemundo with Adults 18-34.
- Univision’s “Imperio de Mentiras” delivered 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 563,000 Adults 18-49 and 201,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision ahead of CBS and The CW during the weeknight 9 p.m. hour with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. “Imperio de Mentiras” also outperformed Telemundo’s “La Suerte de Loli” with double-digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+42% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+34% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+19% adv.).
- Airing weeknights at 10 p.m., “Dulce Ambición” attracted 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 459,000 Adults 18-49 and 154,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision ahead of CBS with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. “Dulce Ambición” outperformed Telemundo’s “Buscando a Frida” among Total Viewers 2+ (+31% adv.) and Adults 18-49 (+7% adv.).
