Univision Outperforms CBS and FOX with “Imperio de Mentiras” for the 2nd Consecutive Week During the Weeknight 9 p.m. Hour Among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of December 28, 2020 to January 3, 2021
- Univision delivered week-over-week primetime audience growth among Total Viewers 2 (+11% to 1.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+11% to 446,000) and Adults 18-34 (+9% to 176,000).
- For the entire week, Univision finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network during primetime, out-delivering The CW and Telemundo with 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 446,000 Adults 18-49 and 176,000 Adults 18-34.
- Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime for the fifteenth consecutive week in the current 2020/2021 season with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+26% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+25% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+29% adv.).
- Airing weeknights at 8 p.m., “Vencer el Desamor” delivered week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+19% to 1.8 million), Adults 18-49 (+20% to 655,000) and Adults 18-34 (+24% to 264,000) and drove Univision to a second-place finish on broadcast television, out-delivering CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The series also doubled the audience levels of the first hour of Telemundo’s “El Domo Del Dinero” among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- Univision’s “Imperio de Mentiras” delivered week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+7% to 1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (+3% to 522,000) and Adults 18-34 (+10% to 203,000). The series made Univision the No. 2 broadcast network in the weeknight 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot, outperforming CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-34 and No. 3 broadcast network in the hour, topping CBS, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-49.
- Airing weeknights at 10 p.m., “Dulce Ambicion” attracted 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 371,000 Adults 18-49 and 134,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision ahead of NBC with Adults 18-34. The series also outperformed Telemundo’s “Falsa Identidad II” with double-digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+37% adv.).
- On Thursday night, Univision outperformed CBS and The CW for the entire night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The special movie presentation of “Logan” attracted 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 506,000 Adults 18-49 and 224,000 Adults 18-34, out-delivering Telemundo’s “Cine Telemundo: Spectre 007” head-to-head in the 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot by double-to-triple digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+81% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+94% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+131% adv.). The “Feliz 2021” special at 10 p.m. delivered 1.9 million Total Viewers 2+, 842,000 Adults 18-49 and 395,000 Adults 18-34, making it the most-watched program on Spanish-language broadcast television among all key demographics while also propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with triple-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+ (+118% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+127% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+138% adv.).
