Univision is No. 1 on Spanish-Language Television in Primetime for Fifth Consecutive Week Across All Key Demos During the Current 2020/2021 Broadcast Season
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of October 19, 2020 to October 25, 2020
- On Saturday night, Univision finished ahead of CBS (+32% adv.) and NBC (+25% adv.) by double-digits for the entire night among Adults 18-34 with live coverage of Liga MX. The soccer matchups of Tigres UANL vs. FC Juarez and American vs. Atlas delivered an average audience of 643,000 Total Viewers 2+, 322,000 Adults 18-49 and 142,000 Adults 18-34. It also averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+17%), Adults 18-49 (+29%) and Adults 18-34 (+34%) to the 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. time slot from the prior Saturday and made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night, outperforming Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+7% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+7% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+71% adv.).
- For the entire week, Univision finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network during primetime, outperforming The CW with 426,000 Adults 18-49 and 179,000 Adults 18-34.
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on four out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
- Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the fifth consecutive week in the current 2020/2021 season, out-delivering Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+9% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+11% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+25% adv.).
- Univision’s “Médicos, Línea de Vida” averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 559,000 Adults 18-49 and 255,000 Adults 18-34. The medical drama delivered week-over-week audience growth for the second consecutive week among Total Viewers 2+ (+2%), Adults 18-49 (+8%) and Adults 18-34 (+6%). “Médicos, Línea de Vida” also out delivered the second hour of Telemundo’s “Domo del Dinero” among Total Viewers 2+ (+79% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+118% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+146% adv.).
- “Imperio de Mentiras” averaged 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 461,000 Adults 18-49 and 179,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision ahead of Telemundo’s “Todo Por Mi Hija” during the weeknight 9 p.m. hour with Adults 18-49 (+3% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+39% adv.).
- Univision’s “Dulce Ambición” delivered 977,000 Total Viewers 2+, 370,000 Adults 18-49 and 130,000 Adults 18-34 and outperformed Telemundo’s “Falsa Identidad II” during the weeknight 10 p.m. hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+17% adv.) and Adults 18-49 (+20% adv.). “Dulce Ambición” also delivered week-to-week audience growth among Adults 18-49 (+5%) and Adults 18-34 (+6%).
- On Thursday night, Univision’s special news coverage of “Destino 2020 Presenta: El Debate Final” attracted 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 247,000 Adults 18-34, 554,000 Adults 18-49 and 593,000 Adults 25-54. The telecast increased its audience in the last hour compared to the first hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+6%), Adults 18-34 (+14%) Adults 18-49 (+12%) and Adults 25-54 (+6%). It also delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+2% adv.), Adults 18-34 (+15% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+6% adv.) and Adults 25-54 (+3% adv.) than Telemundo’s special coverage of the final 2020 presidential debate.
- On Sunday night, Univision’s movie presentation of “Zookeper” averaged 1.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 378,000 Adults 18-49 and 170,000 Adults 18-34. The film propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+ (+44% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+6% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+17% adv.). This marked the fifth consecutive Sunday in the current 2020/2021 season that Univision outperformed Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+.
