Live Liga MX Soccer Coverage Drives Univision’s Double-Digit Victory Over NBC & FOX on Saturday Night among A18-34

Univision is No. 1 on Spanish-language Television for Fourth Consecutive Week Across All Key Demos During the Current 2020/2021 Broadcast Season

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of October 12, 2020 to October 18, 2020

  • On Saturday night, Univision finished ahead of NBC (+12% adv.) and FOX (+23% adv.) by double-digits for the entire night among Adults 18-34 with live coverage of Liga MX. The soccer matchup of Cruz Azul vs. Tigres UANL that aired from 9:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. averaged 641,000 Total Viewers 2+, 299,000 Adults 18-49 and 118,000 Adults 18-34, delivering week-over-week audience gains to the time slot among Total Viewers 2+ (+15%), Adults 18-49 (+40%) and Adults 18-34 (+48%).
  • For the entire week, Univision finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network during primetime, outperforming The CW with 414,000 Adults 18-49 and 175,000 Adults 18-34.
  • Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on five out of seven nights among Adults 18-34.
  • Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the fourth consecutive week in the current 2020/2021 season, out-delivering Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+29% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+20% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+18% adv.).
  • Univision’s “Médicos, Línea de Vida” averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 519,000 Adults 18-49 and 241,000 Adults 18-34. The medical drama out delivered the second hour of Telemundo’s “Domo del Dinero” among Total Viewers 2+ (+35% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+45% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+68% adv.). “Médicos, Línea de Vida” also delivered week-over-week audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+7%), Adults 18-49 (+8%) and Adults 18-34 (+9%).
  • “Imperio de Mentiras” averaged 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 512,000 Adults 18-49 and 214,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision ahead of Telemundo’s “Todo Por Mi Hija” during the weeknight 9 p.m. hour with Adults 18-49 (+2% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+11% adv.).
  • Univision’s “Dulce Ambición” delivered 987,000 Total Viewers 2+, 353,000 Adults 18-49 and 123,000 Adults 18-34 and outperformed Telemundo’s “Falsa Identidad II” during the weeknight 10 p.m. hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+26% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+18% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+2% adv.).
  • On Sunday night, Univision’s movie presentation of “No Manches Frida” averaged 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 440,000 Adults 18-49 and 188,000 Adults 18-34. The film attracted more Adults 18-49 (+3%) and Adults 18-34 (+20%) to the network’s 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot from the comparable Sunday last year and propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+ (+67% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+87% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+48% adv.). This marked the fourth consecutive Sunday in the current 2020/2021 season that Univision outperformed Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+.
