“Imperio de Mentiras” and “Dulce Ambicion” positioned Univision ahead of NBC in the Weeknight 9 P.M. and 10 P.M. Hour Among Adults 18-34
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of October 5, 2020 to October 11, 2020
- On Sunday night, the second telecast of “Tu Cara Me Suena” averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 489,000 Adults 18-49 and 191,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision ahead of FOX and The CW in the 8:00 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. time slot with Total Viewers 2+. The reality series increased its audience in the last half-hour compared to the first half-hour by double-digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+23%), Adults 18-49 (+36%) and Adults 18-34 (+27%). “Tu Cara Me Suena” also attracted more Total Viewer 2+ (+16%), Adults 18-49 (+17%) and Adults 18-34 (+9%) to the network’s 8:00 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. time slot from the comparable Sunday last year and propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the third consecutive Sunday night in the current 2020/2021 season, outperforming Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+. In the 7 p.m. hour, Univision’s “Aquí y Ahora” delivered week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+36% to 1.0 million), Adults 18-49 (+37% to 322,000) and Adults 18-34 (+88% to 138,000) and positioned Univision ahead of FOX among Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-34.
- For the entire week, Univision finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network during primetime, outperforming The CW with 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 433,000 Adults 18-49 and 177,000 Adults 18-34.
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on four out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the third consecutive week in the current 2020/2021 season out-delivering Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+7% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+9% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+23% adv).
- Univision’s “Médicos, Línea de Vida” averaged 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 482,000 Adults 18-49 and 221,000 Adults 18-34. The medical drama out delivered the second hour of Telemundo’s “Exatlon: Estados Unidos” among Total Viewers 2+ (+5% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+6% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+41% adv.).
- “Imperio de Mentiras” averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 560,000 Adults 18-49 and 232,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision ahead of NBC and The CW during the weeknight 9 p.m. hour with Adults 18-34. The series also delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+3% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+27% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+61% adv.) than Telemundo’s “Todo Por Mi Hija.”
- Univision outperformed NBC during the weeknight 10 p.m. hour among Adults 18-34 with “Dulce Ambición.” The series delivered 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 442,000 Adults 18-49 and 172,000 Adults 18-34 and averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+46% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+49% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+43% adv.) than Telemundo’s “Falsa Identidad II.” “Dulce Ambición” also delivered week-over-week audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+2% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+11% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+21% adv.).
- Univision’s live broadcast of the Vice-Presidential debate on Wednesday night delivered 1.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 400,000 Adults 18-49 and 152,000 Adults 18-34. It consistently increased its audience throughout the two-hour broadcast with double-digit audience gains in the last half-hour compared to the first half-hour among Adults 18-34 (+19% to 178,000). Univision also out-delivered Telemundo’s special coverage of the Vice-Presidential debate head-to-head in the time slot by double-digit margins among Adults 18-49 (+11% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+39% adv.).
