“Imperio de Mentiras” Tops FOX Among Adults 18-34 and Delivers Week-Over-Week Increases with Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49 in its Time Period During Premiere Week
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of September 21, 2020 to September 27, 2020
- On Sunday night, Univision finished ahead of ABC with double-digit advantages among Adults 18-49 (+23%) and Adults 18-34 (+88%) with a line-up that included a special episode of “Enamorándonos: La Primera Boda,” “Futbol Central” and Liga MX soccer matchup of Cruz Azul vs. America. Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+19% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+41% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+82% adv.). Univision delivered year-over-year audience growth on Sunday night (+8%) with Adults 18-34 while its competitors suffered double-digit year-over-year audience losses: ABC (-69%), CBS (-74%), The CW (-31%) and Telemundo (-48%).
- On the first week of the 2020/2021 season, Univision finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network during primetime, outperforming The CW with 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 462,000 Adults 18-49 and 196,000 Adults 18-34.
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime on the first week of the season 2020/2021 with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+12% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+23% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+50% adv).
- Univision’s “Médicos, Línea de Vida” averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 546,000 Adults 18-49 and 260,000 Adults 18-34. It delivered more Adults 18-49 (+6%) and Adults 18-34 (+2%) to the network’s weeknight 8 p.m. hour and positioned Univision ahead of NBC and The CW among Adults 18-34. The medical drama out-delivered the second hour of Telemundo’s “Exatlon: Estados Unidos” with double-digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+12%), Adults 18-49 (+19% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+57% adv.).
- In its premiere week, “Imperio de Mentiras” averaged 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 589,000 Adults 18-49 and 246,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision ahead of FOX and The CW in the weeknight 9 p.m. hour with Adults 18-34. The series also delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+3%) and Adults 18-49 (+4%) to the Monday through Friday 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot compared to the previous week and attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+9%), Adults 18-49 (+35%) and Adults 18-34 (+67%) than Telemundo’s “Todo Por Mi Hija.”
- Univision outperformed CBS during the weeknight 10 p.m. hour among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 with “Dulce Ambicion.” The series delivered 1.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 384,000 Adults 18-49 and 137,000 Adults 18-34 and averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+18% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+8% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+3% adv.) than Telemundo’s “Enemigo Intimo II.”
- On Saturday night, Univision ranked as the No.1 Spanish -language network for the entire night, out-delivering Telemundo among Adults 18-49 (+3% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+49% adv.) with live coverage of Liga MX. The soccer matchup of UNAM vs. Necaxa averaged 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 657,000 Adults 18-49 and 257,000 Adults 18-34.
