Univision Delivers Double-Digit Year-Over-Year Primetime Audience Growth For Sixth Straight Week Across Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

Sunday Night Reality Competition Series, “¿Quién Es la Máscara?” Propels Univision To Victory Over ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in the 8:00 P.M. to 10:30 P.M. Time Slot Among Adult 18-34 Viewers

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of August 10, 2020 to August 16, 2020

  • For the twelfth consecutive week, Univision finished as the No. 1 network on all of television in primetime, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW and all cable networks with 246,000 Adults 18-34, marking the longest weekly winning streak of any network since the 2010/2011 season.
  • Univision ranked as the third most-watched network on all of television during primetime for the second consecutive week, ahead of ABC, FOX, The CW and all cable networks with 533,000 Adults 18-49. It also marked the tenth consecutive week that Univision has placed within the top 3 networks, broadcast and cable, among Adults 18-49.
  • Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every night last week for the second consecutive week among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
  • Univision delivered double-digit year-over-year primetime audience growth for the sixth consecutive week among Total Viewers 2+ (+35% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+22% to 533,000) and Adults 18-34 (+28% to 246,000).
  • Univision increased its primetime audience from the comparable week last year (+22%) while ABC (-30%), CBS (-12%), NBC (-23%), FOX (-49%), The CW (-6%) and Telemundo (-16%) all reported audience declines with the key Adult 18 to 49 demographic.
  • Univision captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking during primetime for the thirty-eight consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+33% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+38% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+64% adv).
  • Univision’s “Médicos, Línea de Vida” delivered 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+ with week-over-week audience gains among Adults 18-49 (+2% to 560,000) and Adults 18-34 (+9% to 262,000), making it a top-rated broadcast network in the weeknight 9 p.m. hour at No. 1 among Adults 18-34 and at No. 2, outperforming ABC, CBS, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-49. The medical drama also averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+10% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+19% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+40% adv.) than Telemundo’s “Cennet.”
  • Airing weeknights at 10 p.m., “Como Tú No Hay 2” increased its audience from the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (+2% to 1.6 million), Adults 18-49 (+4% to 695,000) and Adults 18-34 (+8% to 326,000) and drove Univision to the No. 1 broadcast network ranking, ahead of ABC, CBS and NBC in the 10 p.m. hour with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The romantic comedy also out-delivered Telemundo’s “Enemigo Intimo II” by double-to-triple digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+89% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+78% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+109% adv.).
  • Thursday night’s three-hour live broadcast of the 17th Annual “Premios Juventud” award show attracted 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 654,000 Adults 18-49 and 308,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision as the No. 1 broadcast network for the entire night, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-34. “Premios Juventud” was also the second and fifth most-watched program on broadcast television with the respective key Adult 18-34 and Adult 18-49 viewers and made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+ (+48% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+60%) and Adults 18-34 (+23% adv.).
  • With live coverage of Liga MX, Univision finished ahead of CBS on Saturday night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Featuring the back-to-back soccer matchups of Cruz Azul vs. FC Juarez and Mazatlan vs. Unam, Liga MX delivered an average audience of 542,000 Total Viewers 2+, 258,000 Adults 18-49 and 100,000 Adults 18-34. Cruz Azul vs. FC Juarez drew in 600,000 Total Viewers 2+ and ranked among the top 10 most-watched programs on broadcast television with 275,000 Adults 18-49 and 120,000 Adults 18-34. The sports event also propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+ (+15% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+42% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+93% adv.).
  • On Sunday night, “¿Quién Es la Máscara?” averaged 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 548,000 Adults 18-49 and 235,000 Adults 18-34 and made Univision the No. 1 broadcast network in the 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-34. The reality competition series consistently increased its audience throughout its 150-minute airing with double-to-triple digit gains in the last half-hour compared to the first half-hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+78%), Adults 18-49 (+105%) and Adults 18-34 (+84%) while also finished as the second highest-rated program on broadcast television with Adults 18-34. “¿Quién Es la Máscara?” also positioned Univision as the top-rated Spanish-language network for the third consecutive Sunday night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+46% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+57% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+74% adv.).
