Univision is No. 1 for 11th Straight Week on All of TV – Broadcast and Cable – During Primetime Among A18-34

“Como Tú No Hay 2” Propels Univision To Victory Over ABC, CBS and NBC in the Weeknight 10 P.M. Hour With Adult 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 Viewers

Univision Continues Primetime Momentum, Delivering Fifth Straight Week of Double-Digit Year-Over-Year Audience Growth Across All Key Demos

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of August 3, 2020 to August 9, 2020

  • Univision captured the No. 1 network ranking on all of television during primetime for the eleventh consecutive week, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW and all cable networks with 231,000 Adults 18-34. This marked the longest weekly winning streak of any network since the 2010/2011 season.
  • For the entire week, Univision finished as the third most-watched broadcast network in primetime, outperforming ABC, FOX and The CW with 522,000 Adults 18-49 as well as the fourth-largest broadcast network, ahead of FOX and The CW with 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+.
  • Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every night last week among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
  • For the fifth consecutive week, Univision increased its primetime audience from the comparable week last year by double-digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+39% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+34% to 522,000) and Adults 18-34 (+45% to 231,000).
  • Univision delivered double-digit year-over-year primetime audience growth (+34%) with the key Adult 18-49 demographic while ABC (-35%), NBC (-29%), FOX (-36%), The CW (-26%) and Telemundo (-27%) all reported audience declines.
  • Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking in primetime for the thirty-seventh consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+42% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+55% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+71% adv).
  • On Monday night, the finale of “Te Doy La Vida” attracted 2.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 788,000 Adults 18-49 and 326,000 Adults 18-34, making Univision a top-rated network in the 8 p.m. hour at No. 1 among Adults 18-34 and at No. 2, ahead of ABC, CBS, FOX, The CW and all cable networks with Adults 18-49. The series also ranked among the top five most-watched programs on all of television in primetime among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo in the 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. time slot as well as for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
  • Airing weeknights at 9 p.m., “Médicos, Línea de Vida” averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 547,000 Adults 18-49 and 240,000 Adults 18-34 and propelled Univision to the top-rated network ranking on broadcast television, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-34. The medical drama also out-delivered Telemundo’s “Cennet” with double-digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+19% adv.), Adults 18-34 (+33% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+47% adv.).
  • Univision finished as the No. 1 broadcast network, outperforming ABC, CBS and NBC in the weeknight 10 p.m. hour with “Como Tú No Hay 2” among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. “Como Tú No Hay 2” delivered doubled the audience levels of Telemundo’s “Enemigo Intimo II” with 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 671,000 Adults 18-49 and 302,000 Adults 18-34.
  • On Saturday night, Univision captured the No. 3 broadcast network ranking for the entire night, out-delivering ABC and FOX with Adults 18-34. The Liga MX matchup between Cruz Azul and Leon drew in 456,000 Total Viewers 2+, 234,000 Adults 18-49 and 101,000 Adults 18-34 and consistently increased its audience throughout its live broadcast with double-to-triple digit audience gains in the last half-hour compared to the first half-hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+88%), Adults 18-49 (+114%) and Adults 18-34 (+82%). The sports event also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo in the 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot (+34% adv.) as well as for the entire night (+14% adv.) with the key Adult 18 to 49 demographic.
  • Sunday night’s airing of “¿Quién Es la Máscara?” increased its audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+8% to 1.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (+5% to 545,000) and positioned Univision as the No. 2 broadcast network, ahead of ABC, NBC, FOX and The CW during the 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot with Adults 18-34. The reality competition series also averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+98%), Adults 18-49 (+46%) and Adults 18-34 (+54%) to the network’s 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot from the comparable Sunday last year and propelled Univision to the No. 1 network ranking on Spanish-language television for the second consecutive Sunday night, outperforming Telemundo by +49% among Total Viewers 2+, +63% among Adults 18-49 and +38% among Adults 18-34.
