Univision Makes History Once Again as it Becomes the No. 1 Network in Primetime for Seventh Consecutive Week Among Adults 18-34

Univision Delivers No. 1 Program on Broadcast Television on Saturday Night with Live Coverage of Copa Por Mexico Soccer Tournament and Scores Victory Over ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX For Entire Night With Adult 18-34 Viewers

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of July 6, 2020 to July 12, 2020

  • For the entire week, Univision captured the No. 1 network ranking on all of television in primetime, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW and all cable networks with 565,000 Adults 18-49 and 243,000 Adults 18-34.
  • Univision made network’s history once again as it ranked as the No. 1 network during primetime for the seventh consecutive week among Adults 18-34, marking its longest weekly winning streak thus far.
  • Univision outperformed its closest competitor, NBC by +69% during primetime for the entire week among Adults 18-34, marking the biggest audience advantages between a first and second-place network since the week of March 9, 2020.
  • For the fourth consecutive week, Univision finished as the fourth most-watched broadcast network in primetime, ahead of FOX and The CW with 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+.
  • Univision increased its primetime audience by double-digits from the comparable week last year among Total Viewers 2+ (+41% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+25% to 565,000) and Adults 18-34 (+25% to 243,000).
  • Univision delivered double-digit year-over-year primetime audience growth (+25%) while ABC (-32%), CBS (-19%), NBC (-36%), FOX (-55%), The CW (-26%) and Telemundo (-42%) all reported audience declines with the key Adult 18-49 demographic.
  • Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every single night last week for the second consecutive week among Adults 18-49 and for the eighth consecutive week among Adults 18-34.
  • Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime for the thirty-third consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+86% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+77% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+72% adv).
  • Averaging more than half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, “Te Doy La Vida” 695,000), “Amor Eterno” (723,000) and “Como Tú No Hay 2” (644,000) propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-to-triple digit audience advantages over Telemundo during the respective weeknight hours of 8 p.m. (+79% adv.), 9 p.m. (+104% adv.) and 10 p.m. (+99% adv.).
  • Monday through Friday, Univision increased its primetime audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+6% to 1.8 million), Adults 18-49 (+5% to 688,000) and Adults 18-34 (+5% to 295,000), positioning it as the No. 1 network on all of television during weeknight primetime, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW, Telemundo and all cable networks with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
    • At 8 p.m., “Te Doy La Vida” averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+6% to 1.9 million), Adults 18-49 (+4% to 695,000) and Adults 18-34 (+4% to 316,000) than the prior week and drove Univision to a first-place finish on all of television, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW and all cable networks with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The series also outperformed Telemundo’s “Cennet” by +66% among Total Viewers 2+, +79% among Adults 18-49 and +91% among Adults 18-34.
    • At 9 p.m., “Amor Eterno” delivered 2.0 million Total Viewers 2+ with week-over-week audience gains among Adults 18-49 (+6% to 723,000) and Adults 18-34 (+6% to 298,000). The Turkish novela positioned Univision as the No. 1 network on all of television, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW and all cable networks among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 while also delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+150% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+104% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+76% adv.) than Telemundo’s “100 Dias Para Enamorarnos.”
    • At 10 p.m., “Como Tú No Hay 2” attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+5% to 1.6 million), Adults 18-49 (+4% to 644,000) and Adults 18-34 (+5% to 271,000) than the prior week, making Univision the No. 1 network on all of television, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC and all cable networks with the key 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 demographics. The romantic comedy also out-delivered Telemundo’s “Enemigo Intimo II” by double-to-triple digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+110% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+99% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+65% adv.).
  • Univision’s weeknight series, “Te Doy La Vida,” “Amor Eterno” and “Como Tú No Hay 2” finished as the highest-rated program on broadcast television in their respective 8 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. hours for the entire week with more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Don’t,” “Holey Moley,” “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” and “To Tell The Truth;” CBS’ “Tough As Nails;” NBC’s “Blindspot;” FOX’s “Celebrity Watch Party,” “Labor of Love” and “Ultimate Tag” as well as The CW’s “Bulletproof,” “Burden of Truth,” “DC’s Stargirl,” “In The Dark” and “The Hundred.”
  • On Saturday night, Univision captured the No. 1 broadcast network ranking for the entire night, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX among Adults 18-34 with live coverage of “Copa Por Mexico.” Preceded by the soccer matchup between Guadalajara (Chivas) and Monarcas Mazatl, which drew in 493,000 Total Viewers 2+, 248,000 Adults 18-49 and 117,000 Adults 18-34, America vs. Cruz Azul retained and increased its overall lead-in audience by +47% with 726,000 Total Viewers 2+ and ranked as the No. 1 and No. 3 most-watched programs on broadcast television among Adults 18-34 (178,000) and Adults 18-49 (404,000), respectively. The sports event averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+5%), Adults 18-49 (+26%) and Adults 18-34 (+74%) to the network’s 7:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. time slot from the comparable Saturday in 2019 while also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the second and third consecutive Saturday night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among the respective Adult 18-49 (+24% adv.) and Adult 18-34 (+42% adv.) viewers.
  • Univision’s two-hour premiere airing of “Nuestra Belleza Latina: El Reencuentro” attracted 1.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 325,000 Adults 18-49 and 135,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned it ahead of CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW during the Sunday 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. time slot with Adults 18-34. “Nuestra Belleza Latina: El Reencuentro” delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+52%), Adults 18-49 (+9%) and Adults 18-34 (+23%) to the network’s 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. time slot from the prior Sunday and made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+49% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+20% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+27% adv.).
