Univision Outperforms ABC, CBS, FOX and All Cable Networks For Second Straight Week During Primetime with Key Adult 18-49 Viewers

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of June 29, 2020 to July 5, 2020
- For the sixth consecutive week, Univision finished as the No. 1 network on all of television during primetime, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW and all cable networks with 226,000 Adults 18-34, marking the longest weekly winning streak in the network’s history.
- Univision captured the No. 2 network ranking on all of television, ahead of ABC, CBS, FOX, The CW and all cable networks in primetime for the second consecutive week with 541,000 Adults 18-49.
- For the entire week, Univision outperformed FOX and The CW during primetime to rank as the fourth most-watched broadcast network for the third consecutive week with 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+.
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every single night last week among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, making it the seventh consecutive week with the 18 to 34 demographic.
- Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime for the thirty-second consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+70% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+70% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+71% adv).
- Univision finished as the No. 1 network in primetime on all of television, broadcast and cable, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday among Adults 18-49. This marked the fourth consecutive Wednesday night and second consecutive Friday night that Univision placed first with Adults 18-49.
- Airing weeknights at 8 p.m., “Te Doy La Vida” delivered 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+, 671,000 Adults 18-49 and 305,000 Adults 18-34 and propelled Univision to a first-place finish on broadcast television for the sixth consecutive week, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-34 as well as in second-place for the second consecutive week, ahead of ABC, CBS, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-49. The series also averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+51% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+74% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+86% adv.) than Telemundo’s “Cennet.”
- Univision’s “Amor Eterno” attracted 1.9 million Total Viewers 2+, 685,000 Adults 18-49 and 281,000 Adults 18-34, making it a top-rated broadcast network in the Monday through Friday 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot at No. 1 for the tenth consecutive week among Adults 18-34 and at No. 2 for the fourth consecutive week, out-delivering ABC, CBS, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-49. The Turkish novela drew in more Total Viewers 2+ (+124% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+91% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+79% adv.) than Telemundo’s “100 Dias Para Enamorarnos.” “Amor Eterno” also ranked as the No. 1 program on broadcast television in the weeknight 9 p.m. hour among Adults 18-34.
- Univision captured the No. 1 broadcast network ranking, ahead of ABC, CBS and NBC in the weeknight 10 p.m. hour for the tenth consecutive week among Adults 18-34 with “Como Tú No Hay 2.” The romantic comedy averaged 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 617,000 Adults 18-49 and 259,000 Adults 18-34 and outperformed Telemundo’s “Enemigo Intimo” by double-digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+93% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+85% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+70% adv.).
- Averaging over half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, Univision’s weeknight series “Te Doy La Vida” (671,000), “Amor Eterno” (685,000) and “Como Tú No Hay 2” (617,000) out-delivered first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as ABC’s “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D;” NBC’s “Blindspot” and “Council of Dads;” and The CW’s “Bulletproof,” “Burden of Truth,” “DC’s Stargirl,” “In The Dark” and “The Hundred.”
- With live coverage of “Copa Por Mexico,” Univision outperformed CBS and FOX on Saturday night with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The soccer matchup between UNAM and Cruz Azul drew in 526,000 Total Viewers 2+, 257,000 Adults 18-49 and 105,000 Adults 18-34, making it the No. 4 and No. 6 most-watched program on broadcast television with the respective 18 to 34 and 18 to 49 demographics. The sports event also attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+11%), Adults 18-49 (+37%) and Adults 18-34 (+33%) to the network’s 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. time slot from the comparable Saturday last year as well as drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language network with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among Adults 18-49 (+12% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+17% adv.).
- On Sunday night, “Aquí y Ahora” delivered double-digit week-over-week audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+13% to 1.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+19% to 366,000) and Adults 18-34 (+22% to 144,000) and positioned Univision ahead of FOX in the Sunday 7 p.m. hour across all three demographics. The primetime news magazine also outperformed the first hour of Telemundo’s featured film airing of “End of Days” by double-to-triple digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+115% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+60% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+76% adv.).
- Sunday night’s movie presentation of “Independence Day Resurgence” attracted 710,000 Total Viewers 2+, 317,000 Adults 18-49 and 113,000 Adults 18-34 and made Univision a top-rated broadcast network, out-delivering FOX and The CW in the 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot as well as for the entire night with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. “Independence Day Resurgence” delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+27%), Adults 18-49 (+63%) and Adults 18-34 (+46%) in the last half-hour compared to the first half-hour while also propelled Univision to the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+29% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+19% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+19% adv.).
