Univision Scores No. 1 Network Ranking in Primetime Among Adults 18-34 For Second Consecutive Week

Univision Delivers Twelfth Consecutive Week of Year-Over-Year Primetime Audience Growth Across All Key Demos

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of June 1, 2020 to June 7, 2020

  • For the second consecutive week, Univision captured the No. 1 network ranking on all of television during primetime, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW and all cable networks with 241,000 Adults 18-34 and ranked as the No. 3 broadcast network, ahead of CBS, FOX and The CW with 576,000 Adults 18-49.
  • Univision increased its primetime audience year-over-year for the twelfth consecutive week among Total Viewers 2+ (+34% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+27% to 576,000) and Adults 18-34 (+31% to 241,000).
  • Univision delivered double-digit year-over-year primetime audience growth (+27%) while ABC (-61%), CBS (-17%), NBC (-56%), FOX (-31%), The CW (-19%) and Telemundo (-27%) all reported audience declines with the key Adult 18-49 demographic.
  • Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every single night for the third consecutive week among Adults 18-34 and on six out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-49.
  • Univision finished as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the twenty-eighth consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+65% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+46% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+39% adv.).
  • Monday through Friday, Univision increased its primetime audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+5% to 1.8 million), Adults 18-49 (+7% to 701,000) and Adults 18-34 (+7% to 299,000), positioning it as the No. 1 broadcast network during weeknight primetime, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW and Telemundo with Adults 18-34 as well as the third most-watched broadcast network, ahead of CBS, FOX, The CW and Telemundo with Adults 18-49.
    • At 8 p.m., “Te Doy La Vida” delivered week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+8% to 1.7 million), Adults 18-49 (+12% to 684,000) and Adults 18-34 (+12% to 309,000) and propelled Univision to a first-place finish on broadcast television for the second consecutive week, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-34. The series also drew in more Total Viewers 2+ (+39% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+50% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+55% adv.) than Telemundo’s “Cennet.”
    • At 9 p.m., “Amor Eterno” attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+5% to 2.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (+8% to 767,000) than the prior week, making Univision the No. 1 broadcast network for the sixth consecutive week, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW with 298,000 Adults 18-34. The Turkish novela also outperformed Telemundo’s “100 Dias Para Enamorarnos” with double-to-triple digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+127% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+86% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+55% adv.).
    • At 10 p.m., “Como Tu No Hay 2” averaged 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 664,000 Adults 18-49 and 287,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision as the top-rated network on broadcast television, outperforming ABC, CBS and NBC for the sixth consecutive week with Adults 18-34. The romantic comedy increased its audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+5% to 1.6 million), Adults 18-49 (+3% to 664,000) and Adults 18-34 (+8% to 287,000) while also doubled the audience levels of Telemundo’s “La Reina Del Sur II Edicion Especial” across all three demographics.
  • For the third consecutive week, Univision’s “Te Doy La Vida,” “Amor Eterno” and “Como Tú No Hay 2” ranked within the top 5 programs on all of broadcast television across every single night with more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “The Baker and The Beauty;” CBS’ “Broke” and “Man With a Plan;” NBC’s “Blindspot,” “Council of Dads” and “Songland;” FOX’s “Celebrity Watch Party” and “Labor of Love” as well as The CW’s “Burden of Truth,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “DC’s Stargirl,” “In The Dark,” “Roswell New Mexico” and “The Hundred.”
  • The special edition of “Aquí y Ahora” titled “No Al Racismo” (No To Racism) attracted 932,000 Total Viewers 2+, 265,000 Adults 18-49 and 108,000 Adults 18-34, making Univision a top-rated broadcast network in the Sunday 7 p.m. hour with double-digit audience advantages of +15% over NBC among Adults 18-34. The primetime news magazine also outperformed Telemundo’s entire programming line-up consisting of the featured film airings of “Ben-Hur” and “Set Up” on this night among Total Viewers 2+.
  • On Sunday night, Univision’s movie presentation of “The Day After Tomorrow” delivered 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 421,000 Adults 18-49 and 158,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned it as the No. 3 broadcast network in the 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot, ahead of NBC, FOX, The CW and Telemundo with Adults 18-34. It consistently increased its audience throughout the 150-minutes airing with double-digit audience gains in the last half-hour compared to the first half-hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+41%) and Adults 18-49 (+70%) while also grew by +53% among Adults 18-34. “The Day After Tomorrow” also ranked among the top 10 programs on broadcast television with Adults 18-34 and drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the entire Sunday night among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
