Univision Delivers Ninth Straight Week of Double-Digit Primetime Audience Growth During 2019/2020 Broadcast Season

“Amor Eterno” and “Como Tú No Hay 2” Rank No. 1 on Broadcast Television Every Night in the 9 P.M. and 10 P.M. Hours, Lead Univision Ahead of ABC, CBS and NBC For Entire Week with Adults 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of May 11, 2020 to May 17, 2020

  • For the entire week, Univision ranked as the No. 2 broadcast network in primetime, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC and The CW with 277,000 Adults 18-34 and finished as the fifth most-watched network, ahead of The CW with 615,000 Adults 18-49 and 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+.
  • Univision delivered double-digit year-over-year primetime audience growth for the ninth consecutive week among Total Viewers 2+ (+18% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+15% to 615,000) and Adults 18-34 (+38% to 277,000).
  • Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every single night last week among Adults 18-34 and on five out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.
  • Univision captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime for the twenty-fifth consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+64% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+55% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+69% adv.).
  • Monday through Friday, Univision increased its primetime audience from the prior week among Adults 18-49 (+4% to 770,000) and Adults 18-34 (+11% to 354,000), positioning it as the No. 1 broadcast network during weeknight primetime, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-34 while also doubled the audience levels of Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
    • At 8 p.m., “Te Doy La Vida” attracted 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 707,000 Adults 18-49 and 354,000 Adults 18-34 and made Univision the No. 2 broadcast network, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC and The CW with Adults 18-34. The series delivered week-over-week audience gains for the second consecutive week among Adults 18-49 (+6% to 707,000) and Adults 18-34 (+16% to 354,000) as well as outperformed Telemundo’s “Cennet” by +39% among Total Viewers 2+, +48% among Adults 18-49 and +79% among Adults 18-34.
    • At 9 p.m., “Amor Eterno” delivered 2.1 million Total Viewers 2+ and increased its audience from the prior week among (+3% to 825,000) and Adults 18-34 (+11% to 373,000). The Turkish novela drove Univision to a first-place finish on broadcast television, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW for the third consecutive week with Adults 18-34 and drew in more Total Viewers 2+ (+135% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+88% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+99% adv.) than Telemundo’s “100 Dia Para Enamorarnos.”
    • At 10 p.m., “Como Tu No Hay 2” averaged 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+ with week-over-week audience gains among Adults 18-49 (+4% to 775,000) and Adults 18-34 (+5% to 331,000), making Univision the No. 1 broadcast network, outperforming ABC, CBS and NBC for the third consecutive week among Adults 18-34 as well as the No. 2 broadcast network, ahead of ABC and NBC among Adults 18-49. The romantic comedy also doubled the audience levels of Telemundo’s “La Reina del Sur II Edicion Especial” among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
  • On every single weeknight last week, Univision’s “Te Doy La Vida,” “Amor Eterno” and “Como Tú No Hay 2” ranked within the top 10 programs on all of broadcast television with more Adult 18-49 and Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as ABC’s “For Life” and “The Baker and The Beauty;” NBC’s “Blacklist,” “Blindspot” and “Council of Dads;” and The CW’s “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Flash,” “In The Dark,” “Katy Keene” and “Roswell New Mexico.” Both “Amor Eterno” and “Como Tu No Hay 2” finished as the No. 1 program on broadcast television in their respective weeknight 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. hours across every night last week among Adults 18-34.
  • Sunday night’s movie presentation of “Kung Fu Yoga” attracted 919,000 Total Viewers 2+, 397,000 Adults 18-49 and 157,000 Adults 18-34 and made Univision a top-rated broadcast network during the 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot, ahead of NBC, The CW and Telemundo with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The movie also delivered more Adult 18-49 (+56%) and Adult 18-34 (+87%) viewers to the time period compared to the prior Sunday and outperformed The CW’s entire primetime programming line-up consisting of “Batwoman” and “Supergirl” with these two key demographics.
