Univision Delivers Fifth Consecutive Week of Double-Digit Primetime Audience Growth Across All Key Demos

Network Delivers Victory Over ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in the Weeknight 9 P.M. Hour with Adults 18-34 Driven by “Amor Eterno

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of April 13, 2020 to April 19, 2020

  • For the fifth consecutive week, Univision delivered double-digit year-over-year primetime audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+26% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+21% to 570,000) and Adults 18-34 (+47% to 258,000).
  • Univision finished as the fifth most-watched network in primetime for the entire week, ahead of The CW with 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 570,000 Adults 18-49 and 258,000 Adults 18-34.
  • Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on five out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
  • Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime for the twenty-first consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+52% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+34% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+51% adv.).
  • In its premiere week, “Te Doy La Vida” attracted 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+, 690,000 Adults 18-49 and 322,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in the weeknight 8 p.m. hour with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo’s “Cennet” among Total Viewers 2+ (+42% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+36% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+57% adv.). “Te Doy La Vida” also averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+19%), Adults 18-49 (+15%) and Adults 18-34 (+16%) than the comparable airings of its predecessor, “Ringo” as well as drew in more key 18 to 49 (+31%) and 18 to 34 (+69%) viewers to the network’s Monday through Friday 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. time slot from that of a year ago.
  • Univision captured the No. 1 broadcast network ranking during the weeknight 9 p.m. hour, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-34 with “Amor Eterno.” The Turkish novela averaged 2.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 825,000 Adults 18-49 and 377,000 Adults 18-34 and out-delivered Telemundo’s “La Doña II” by double-to-triple digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+104% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+69% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+75% adv.).
  • Airing weeknights at 10 p.m., “Sin Miedo a la Verdad” delivered 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 544,000 Adults 18-49 and 244,000 Adults 18-34 and drove Univision to a second-place finish on broadcast television, ahead of ABC and CBS in the time slot with Adults 18-34. “Sin Miedo a la Verdad” also averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+47% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+30% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+47% adv.) than Telemundo’s “Operacion Pacifico.”
  • Sunday night’s movie presentation of “Dolphin Tale” averaged 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 408,000 Adult 18-49 and 199,000 Adults 18-34 and propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo in the 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot (+33% adv.) as well as for the entire night (+31% adv.) among the key Adult 18-49 demographic. The featured film increased its audience in the second hour compared to the first hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+9%) and Adults 18-49 (+8%) while also finished within the top 10 programs on broadcast television on Sunday night with Adults 18-34.
