“Pequeños Gigantes” Propels Univision To Victory Over NBC and FOX on Sunday Night With Key Adult 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 Viewers
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of March 23, 2020 to March 29, 2020
- For the second consecutive week, Univision delivered double-digit year-over-year primetime audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+19% to 1.7 million), Adults 18-49 (+19% to 653,000) and Adults 18-34 (+29% to 277,000).
- Univision finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network during primetime for the entire week, ahead of The CW with 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 653,000 Adults 18-49 and 277,000 Adults 18-34.
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) across every night for the second consecutive week among Adults 18-34.
- Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the eighteenth consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+42% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+26% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+27% adv.).
- Tuesday night’s finale of “Ringo” averaged its highest-rated telecast in its full-run with 2.2 million Total Viewers 2+ and 904,000 Adults 18-49 as well as second-highest with 405,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision as the No. 3 broadcast network during the 8 p.m. hour ahead of ABC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-34. The series increased its audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+12%), Adults 18-49 (+21%) and Adults 18-34 (+19%) and finished as the sixth most-watched program on broadcast television for the night with Adults 18-34.
- Univision’s weeknight 9pm Turkish novela, “Amor Eterno” delivered its highest-rated weekly performance in its current second season this past week with week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+7% to 2.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+4% to 811,000) and Adults 18-34 (+11% to 343,000). It made Univision a top-rated broadcast network in the 9 p.m. hour, out-delivering CBS, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-34 and outperformed Telemundo’s “La Doña II” by double-digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+76% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+52% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+43% adv.).
- “Sin Miedo a la Verdad” attracted 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 525,000 Adults 18-49 and 221,000 Adults 18-34 and propelled Univision to the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking in the Monday through Friday 10 p.m. hour with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo’s “Operacion Pacifico” among Total Viewers 2+ (+31% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+17% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+20% adv.).
- On Sunday night, Univision captured the No. 3 broadcast network ranking for the entire night, outperforming NBC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Univision also finished as the top-rated Spanish-language network for the second consecutive Sunday night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+80% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+35% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+21% adv.).
- “Aquí y Ahora” increased its audience year-over-year among Total Viewers 2+ (+44% to 1.6 million), Adults 18-49 (+35% to 549,000) and Adults 18-34 (+34% to 207,000). The primetime news magazine also out-delivered the first-hour of Telemundo’s movie presentation of “Power Rangers” among Adults 18-49 (+4% adv.) and Total Viewers 2+ (+49% adv.).
- “Pequeños Gigantes” averaged 2.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 739,000 Adults 18-49 and 294,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision as the No. 2 broadcast network, ahead of CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW in the Sunday 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot among Adults 18-34. “Pequeños Gigantes” also ranked among the top 5 programs on broadcast television and made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network in the 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot for the second consecutive Sunday with double-to-triple digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+101% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+55% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+45% adv.).
- “Sal y Pimienta” delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+23% to 1.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (+7% to 441,000) to the network’s 10:30 p.m. half-hour time slot from the comparable Sunday last year. The entertainment news program also outperformed the last half-hour of Telemundo’s “La Voz II” on this night by +32% among Total Viewers 2+, +4% among Adults 18-49 and +14% among Adults 18-34.
