Thrilling Ninety Minute Finale Delivers Highest-Telecast in Its Full-Run Across All Key Demos
“Rubí” Makes Univision the No. 1 Broadcast Station in the Time Period in Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston and Phoenix Among Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54, Regardless of Language
MIAMI – FEBRUARY 28, 2020 – Last night’s must-see finale of “Rubí,” the latest in a series of timeless classic novelas reimagined by Univision for today’s audience, reached 3.5 million Total Viewers 2+, who tuned in to all or part of the ninety-minute telecast. Airing at 9 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. CT, the finale of “Rubí” averaged its highest-rated telecast in its full-run with 2.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 883,000 Adults 18-49 and 373,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision ahead of CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW in the time period and for the entire night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. “Rubí” was also the third and fifth most-watched program on broadcast television for the night with Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49, respectively.
Starring Camila Sodi as Rubí, the woman we love to hate, the series finale outperformed Telemundo in the time period, averaging two-times more Total Viewers 2+ (+104% advantage), Adults 18-49 (+110% advantage) and Adults 18-34 (+104% advantage) than “La Doña II” and “Operacion Pacifico.” “Rubí” also propelled Univision to the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+62% advantage), Adults 18-49 (+72% advantage) and Adults 18-34 (+69% advantage).
“Rubí, El Aftershow,” airing from 10:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET/9:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. CT, averaged 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 651,000 Adults 18-49 and 272,000 Adults 18-34, outperforming Telemundo by double-digits across all three key demographic groups.
During its full 26-episode run, “Rubí” averaged 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 692,000 Adults 18-49 and 280,000 Adults 18-34 and out-delivered CBS in the 10 p.m. ET hour among Adults 18-34. The performance also made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network in its weeknight time period, outperforming Telemundo across all three key demographic groups. Last night’s finale of “Rubí” ranks as the highest-rated primetime novela/series finale in 2019 and 2020 to-date on the Univision Network among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
