“Rubí” Positions Univision Ahead of ABC, CBS and NBC to Finish No. 1 Among A18-34 at 10pm During Premiere Week

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of January 20, 2020 to January 26, 2020

  • For the fourth consecutive week, Univision increased its weeknight primetime audience from the prior week among Adults 18-49 (+3% to 699,000) and Adults 18-34 (+2% to 297,000) and delivered 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+. Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in the Monday through Friday 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. time slot with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+39% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+27% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+23% adv.). Univision also doubled its weeknight primetime audience year-to-year among Total Viewers 2+ (+13%), Adults 18-49 (+17%) and Adults 18-34 (+23%).
    • At 8 p.m., “Ringo” averaged 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 669,000 Adults 18-49 and 312,000 Adults 18-34. The series positioned Univision ahead of FOX, CBS and The CW with Adults 18-34 for the entire week. “Ringo” also delivered year-over-year double-digit audience growth to the network’s Monday through Friday 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. time slot among Total Viewers 2+ (+12%), Adults 18-49 (+21%) and Adults 18-34 (+50%). “Ringo” also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television, outperforming the second hour of Telemundo’s “Exatlón” in its premiere week among Total Viewers 2+ (+13% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+9% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+25% adv.).
    • At 9 p.m., “Amor Eterno 2” increased week-to-week among Adults 18-49 (+3% to 715,000) and Adults 18-34 (+1% to 289,000) while delivering 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+. The novela series made Univision the third most-watched broadcast network in the hour, out-delivering FOX, CBS and The CW among Adults 18-34. “Amor Eterno 2” increased the network’s Monday through Friday 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. time period by double-digit margins year-to-year among Total Viewers 2+ (+18%), Adults 18-49 (+20%) and Adults 18-34 (+18%). The series also positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network, out-delivering Telemundo’s “La Doña 2” with double-digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+83% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+59% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+35% adv.).
    • At 10 p.m., the premiere week of “Rubí” averaged 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 712,000 Adults 18-49 and 291,000 Adults 18-34. “Rubí 2020” positioned Univision as the No. 1 broadcast network for the entire week, ahead of NBC, CBS and ABC among Adults 18-34. The series also attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+17%), Adults 18-49 (+22%) and Adults 18-34 (+28%) than the comparable airings of its predecessor, “El Dragón”. The series also delivered year-over-year audience growth to the network’s Monday through Friday 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. time slot among Total Viewers 2+ (+5%), Adults 18-49 (+11%) and Adults 18-34 (+6%). The novela also outperformed Telemundo’s “El Señor de los Cielos VII” by double-digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+31% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+21% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+12% adv.).
  • Univision’s weeknight series, “Ringo,” “Amor Eterno 2” and “Rubí 2020” drew in more Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Black-ish,” “Mixed-ish,” “Stumptown,” Fresh Off the Boat” and “Emergence;” CBS’s “S.W.A.T.;” NBC’s “Perfect Harmony” and “Will & Grace;” as well as The CW’s “Arrow,” “Riverdale,” “All American,” “Supergirl,” “Batwoman,” “Black Lightning,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Supernatural,” “Legacies,” “Charmed,” “Nancy Drew” and “Dynasty.”
  • Univision finished as the third most-watched Broadcast network among Adults 18-34 for the entire week, ahead of NBC (+3% adv.), FOX (+35% adv.) and The CW (+200% adv.). Univision also ranked as the fifth most-watched broadcast network during primetime among Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49, ahead of The CW (+162% adv.).
  • Univision increased its primetime audience year-over-year among Total Viewers 2+ (+8% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+12% to 629,000) and Adults 18-34 (+21% to 267,000).
  • Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) across every night last week for the fifth consecutive week among Adults 18-34 and on six out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.
  • Univision finished as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the ninth consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+33% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+24% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+24% adv.).
  • On Saturday night, Univision’s doubleheader “Liga MX” matches featuring Tigres UANL vs. Atlas and Leon vs. Pachuca made Univision the No. 3 broadcast network among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, outperforming CBS and FOX on Saturday night.
    • Both games – Tigres UANL vs. Atlas and Leon vs. Pachuca – delivered an average audience of 871,000 Total Viewers 2+, 454,000 Adults 18-49 and 179,000 Adults 18-34. The live soccer matches also increased the network’s primetime audience by double-digit margins during the Saturday 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. time slot year-over-year among Total Viewers 2+ (+43%), Adults 18-49 (+48%) and Adults 18-34 (+47%).
    • Both matches were among the top-rated programs on all of broadcast television on Saturday night among Adults 18-34: Tigres UANL vs. Atlas ranked as the No. 3 program (181,000) and Leon vs. Pachuca finished as the No. 4 program (177,000).
    • Positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network, out-delivering Telemundo by double-digit margins among Total Viewers 2+ (+21% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+45% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+27% adv.) during the 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. time period.
  • On Sunday night, Univision ranked as the No. 3 Broadcast network among Adults 18-34, ahead of NBC, FOX and The CW. The network also finished as the fourth most-watched Broadcast network among Adults 18-49, out-delivering FOX and The CW.
    • The 8.p.m. airing of “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” attracted 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 535,000 Adults 18-49 and 214,000 Adults 18-34 during its telecast and positioned Univision ahead of NBC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-34 in the 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot.
    • The reality competition series outperformed The CW’s entire original primetime lineup consisting of “Batwoman” and “Supergirl” for the second consecutive week across all key demos.
    • “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television, out-delivering Telemundo’s “La Voz II” by double-digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+34% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+18% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+27% adv.).
