Univision Delivers Primetime Audience Growth, Finishes Among Top Five on Broadcast Television For Entire Week with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

Univision’s “Ringo” Average Highest-Rated Weekly Performance With Double-Digit Week-Over-Week Audience Gains Across Key Demos

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of December 16, 2019 to December 22, 2019

  • For the entire week, Univision delivered year-over-year audience growth during primetime among Total Viewers 2+ (+5% to 1.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+10% to 505,000) and Adults 18-34 (+24% to 224,000). Univision also increased its primetime audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+10%), Adults 18-49 (+11%) and Adults 18-34 (+19%).
  • Univision finished as the fourth most-watched broadcast network in primetime, out-delivering ABC and The CW with 224,000 Adults 18-34 as well as the fifth largest broadcast network, ahead of The CW with 505,000 Adults 18-49.
  • Univision captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking during primetime for the fourth consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+57% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+53% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+62% adv.).
  • Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on five out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
  • Monday through Friday, Univision increased its audience from the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (+16% to 1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (+16% to 594,000) and Adults 18-34 (+24% to 276,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in weeknight primetime with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+67% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+70% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+94% adv.).
  • At 8 p.m., “Ringo” attracted 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+ with week-over-week audience gains among Adults 18-49 (+13% to 603,000) and Adults 18-34 (+21% to 296,000), marking its highest-rated weekly performance with both the key 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 demographics. The series also propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with doubled the audience levels of Telemundo’s “El Sultan” in the Monday through Friday 8 p.m. hour among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
  • At 9 p.m., “La Rosa de Guadalupe” delivered year-over-year audience growth to the network’s weeknight 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot among Total Viewers 2 + (+6% to 1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (+10% to 575,000) and Adults 18-34 (+36% to 272,000). It also drew in three times more Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 than Telemundo’s “Decisiones: Unos Ganan, Otros Pierden.”
  • At 10 p.m., “El Dragón” averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+10% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+13% to 582,000) and Adults 18-34 (+22% to 248,000) than the prior week. The series also outperformed Telemundo’s “El Señor de los Cielos VII” in the Monday through Friday 10 p.m. hour by +29% among Total Viewers 2+, +14% among Adults 18-49 and +23% among Adults 18-34.
  • On Saturday night, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+33% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+21% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+18% adv.). Preceded by the movie presentation of “The Polar Express” which drew in 841,000 Total Viewers 2+, 340,000 Adults 18-49 and 141,000 Adults 18-34, “Maria” retained about 87% of this lead-in audience with 730,000 Total Viewers 2+ and averaged more Adults 18-49 (+15% to 292,000) and Adults 18-34 (+59% to 111,000) to the network’s 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. time slot from the comparable Saturday last year.
  • The Univision portfolio of networks is delivering nearly 70% primetime audience share over the major Spanish-language competitors among Adults 18-49 in the month of December 2019 thus far, the highest since March 2018.
