Univision’s Second Series of The Collection Franchise, “Cuna de Lobos” Concludes Its Run With Highest-Rated Telecast Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of November 25, 2019 to December 1, 2019

  • Univision delivered week-over-week primetime audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+3% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+4% to 573,000) and Adults 18-34 (+14% to 256,000).
  • Univision finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network in primetime, ahead of The CW for the entire week with 573,000 Adults 18-49 and 256,000 Adults 18-34.
  • Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) across every night last week among Adults 18-34.
  • Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime for the entire week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+53% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+50% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+41% adv.).
  • Tuesday night’s one-hour finale of The Collection’s Second Series “Cuna de Lobos” on Univision:
    • Averaged its highest-rated telecast during its full 25-episode run with 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+ and 744,000 Adults 18-49 as well as second-highest with 297,000 Adults 18-34.
    • Positioned Univision as the No. 3 broadcast network in the 9 p.m. hour and for the entire night, out-delivering ABC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-34.
    • Finished within the top 10 most-watched programs on broadcast television with more Adult 18-34 viewers than the entire original line-ups on FOX (“The Resident” and “Empire”) and The CW (“Flash” and “Arrow”) as well as first-run episodes of ABC’s “Bless This Mess,” “Mixed-ish,” “Blackish” and “Emergence.”
    • Delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+19%), Adults 18-49 (+18%) and Adults 18-34 (+32%) than its premiere telecast.
    • Ranked as the second highest-rated primetime novela/series finale on the Univision network in the 2019 calendar year thus far (behind “La Usurpadora”) among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
    • Made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network in the 9 p.m. hour with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo’s “El Final del Paraiso” among Total Viewers 2+ (+38% adv.) and Adults 18-49 (+33% adv.).
  • Univision’s “El Dragón” delivered week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+19% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+16% to 559,000) and Adults 18-34 (+25% to 245,000). The series also outperformed The CW’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of “All American,” “Arrow,” “Batwoman,” “Black Lightning,” “Flash,” “Penn & Teller: Merry Fool Us” and “Supergirl” among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
  • With special live coverage of the 2019 Liga MX Apertural Quarter-Final between Club América and Tigres UANL, Univision outperformed ABC, FOX and The CW on Thursday night and finished ahead of FOX and The CW on Sunday night among Adults 18-34. The sports event also propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with doubled the audience levels of Telemundo across both Thursday and Sunday night among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
  • On Thursday night, the live broadcast of the first leg of the 2019 Liga MX Apertural Quarter-Final between Club América and Tigres UANL drew in 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 865,000 Adults 18-49 and 386,000 Adults 18-34. América vs. Tigres also averaged two times the network’s audience levels in the 9:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. time slot from the comparable Thursday in 2018, making it the seventh most-watched program on broadcast television on this night with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
  • On average, 2.0 million Total Viewers 2+ tuned-in to the second leg of the 2019 Liga MX Apertural Quarter-Final in which Club América defeated Tigres UANL to advance to the semi-finals on Sunday night. As the network’s second highest-rated Liga MX match in the 2019 calendar year thus far, América vs. Tigres ranked within the top 10 most-watched programs on broadcast television with more Adult 18-49 (1.0 million) and Adult 18-34 (458,000) viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Shark Tank” and “The Rookie;” CBS’ “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “Madam Secretary;” FOX’s “Simpsons” and “Bob’s Burgers;” as well as The CW’s entire original line-up consisting of “Batwoman” and Supergirl.”
  • On Saturday night, Univision’s special movie presentation of “Man of Steel” attracted 693,000 Total Viewers 2+, 330,000 Adults 18-49 and 138,000 Adults 18-34 and drove it to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among the key 18 to 49 viewers (+21% adv.). “Man of Steel” also delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+4%), Adults 18-49 (+10%) and Adults 18-34 (+28%) to the network’s 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. time slot from the prior Saturday.
  • Univision finished ahead of Telemundo in primetime during the November 2019 Sweeps to maintain its top-ranked network position on Spanish-language television for the 28th consecutive time with 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+ and for the 26th time with 590,000 Adults 18-49.
