Univision Outperforms ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX on Six of Seven Nights Among Adults 18-34

Live Soccer Propels Univision to Double-Digit Victories Over NBC on Saturday Night With Key Adult 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 Viewers 

 

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of October 21, 2019 to October 27, 2019

  • Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
  • Univision finished ahead of The CW during primetime for the entire week with 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 499,000 Adults 18-49 and 207,000 Adults 18-34, marking the fifth consecutive week since the start of the 2019/2020 broadcast season.
  • On Saturday night, Univision outperformed NBC by double-digits for the entire night among Adults 18-49 (+11% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+58% adv.) with live coverage of “Sábado Futbolero.” The back-to-back soccer matches – America vs. Puebla and Tigres vs. Cruz Azul – delivered an average audience of 860,000 Total Viewers 2+, 438,000 Adults 18-49 and 182,000 Adults 18-34 and increased the network’s audience levels during the Saturday 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. time slot week-over-week with the key 18 to 49 (+11%) and 18 to 34 (+10%) demographics. Both games were among the top-rated programs on all of broadcast television on Saturday night among Adults 18-34, ranking at No. 3 with Tigres vs. Cruz Azul (182,000) and No. 4 with America vs. Puebla (181,000). The sports event also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+ (+39% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+44% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+21% adv.).
  • In its premiere week, “Cuna de Lobos” attracted 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 573,000 Adults 18-49 and 219,000 Adults 18-34 on the Univision network. The series drew in more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as CBS’ “Blue Bloods,” “Bull,” “Evil” and “Madam Secretary;” NBC’s “Bluff City Law” and “Blacklist” as well as The CW’s “All American,” “Arrow,” “Batwoman,” “Black Lightning,” “Charmed,” “Dynasty,” “Legacies,” “Nancy Drew,” “Riverdale,” “Supergirl” and “Supernatural.”
  • Airing weeknights at 10 p.m., Univision’s “El Dragón” averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+8% to 1.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+17% to 482,000) and Adults 18-34 (+9% to 175,000) than the comparable week of its predecessor, “Sin Miedo a la Verdad.” The series also delivered more Adult 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 viewers than first-run episodes of The CW’s “All American,” “Arrow,” “Batwoman,” “Black Lightning,” “Charmed,” “Dynasty,” “Legacies,” “Nancy Drew,” “Riverdale,” “Supergirl” and “Supernatural.”
  • Sunday night’s two-hour broadcast of “Reina de la Canción” delivered 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+ with week-over-week audience gains among Adults 18-49 (+7% to 458,000) and Adults 18-34 (+28% to 195,000). The reality competition series also outperformed The CW’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of “Batwoman” and “Supergirl” among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
