Univision Scores More Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 than ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX on Friday, Ranks as the No. 1 Broadcast Network for Entire Night 

Univision Delivers Double-Digit Week-Over-Week Primetime Audience Growth Across All Key Demos, Outperforms ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX on Five Out of Seven Nights With Adults 18-34 

 

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of September 2, 2019 to September 8, 2019

  • Friday night’s special live coverage of the “Seleccion Mexicana” soccer match between Mexico and USA drew in 2.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.5 million Adults 18-49 and 691,000 Adults 18-34 and propelled Univision to the No. 1 broadcast network ranking for the entire night, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Not only did the Mexico vs. USA matchup attract more Total Viewers 2+ (+60%), Adults 18-49 (+67%) and Adults 18-34 (+66%) to the network’s 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. time slot from the comparable Friday last year but it was also the top-rated program on all of broadcast television on Friday night with the key Adult 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 demographics. The sports event also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the entire night with double to triple the audience of Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
  • For the entire week, Univision delivered double-digit week-over-week audience growth during primetime among Total Viewers 2+ (+13% to 1.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+20% to 496,000) and Adults 18-34 (+20% to 221,000), marking the 50th consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season that it surpassed the CW in primetime.
  • Univision finished ahead of CBS for the second consecutive week in primetime with double-digit audience advantages among Adults 18-34 (+22% adv.).
  • Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on five out of seven nights among Adults 18-34.
  • Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime for the entire week, out-delivering Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+6% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+4% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+6% adv.).
  • From Monday through Friday, Univision increased its primetime audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+20% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+39% to 604,000) and Adults 18-34 (+41% to 277,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+19% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+21% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+28% adv.).
    • At 8 p.m., “La Rosa de Guadalupe” attracted 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 445,000 Adults 18-49 and 217,000 Adults 18-34. The series made Univision one of the top-rated broadcast networks during the weeknight 8 p.m. hour, outperforming CBS, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-34.
    • At 9 p.m., “Juntos, El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca” delivered its highest-rated weekly performance with third week of consecutive audience growth since its premiere among Total Viewers 2+ (+5% to 1.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+12% to 477,000) and Adults 18-34 (+10% to 213,000).
    • At 10 p.m., “Sin Miedo a la Verdad” averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+5% to 1.0 million), Adults 18-49 (+12% to 431,000) and Adults 18-34 (+8% to 186,000) than the prior week, marking the series’ highest weekly audience levels as well as drove Univision to the No. 2 broadcast network ranking, ahead of ABC and CBS among Adults 18-34. “Sin Miedo a la Verdad” also outperformed Telemundo’s “El Preso No. 1” by double-digit margins among Total Viewers 2+ (+21% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+17% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+22% adv.).
  • Univision’s weeknight series, “La Rosa de Guadalupe,” “Juntos, El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca” and “Sin Miedo a la Verdad” drew in more Adult 18-49 and Adult 18-34 viewers than the first-run episode of ABC’s “Reef Break” and The CW’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of “Bulletproof,” “Hypnotize Me,” “Pandora,” “The Outpost” and “Two Sentence Horror Stories.”
