Univision Out-Delivers One or More of the Big Four English-Language Networks on Six of Seven Nights for Second Straight Week Among Adults 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of August 12, 2019 to August 18, 2019

  • On Saturday night, Univision captured the No. 1 broadcast network ranking for the entire night, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 with live coverage of “Sábado Futbolero.” The first matchup of the night between Leon and Guadalajara doubled the network’s audience levels in the 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. time slot from the comparable Saturday in 2018 with 984,000 Total Viewers 2+, 524,000 Adults 18-49 and 264,000 Adults 18-34, making it the second and third most-watched program on all of broadcast television with the respective 18 to 34 and 18 to 49 demographics. America vs. Monarcas Morelia also attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+49% to 1.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+58% to 652,000) and Adults 18-34 (+67% to 331,000) to the network’s Saturday 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. time period from that of a year ago to rank as the No. 1 program on broadcast television among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The sports event also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the entire night with two times the audience levels of Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34
  • For the second consecutive week, Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights among Adults 18-34.
  • Univision finished ahead of The CW during primetime for the 47th consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season with week-over-week audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+3% to 975,000), Adults 18-49 (+12% to 436,000) and Adults 18-34 (+21% to 192,000).
  • For the entire week, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime, out-delivering Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+.
  • From Monday through Friday, Univision increased its primetime audience among Adults 18-49 (+6% to 450,000) and Adults 18-34 (+9% to 190,000).
    • At 8 p.m., “La Reina Soy Yo” attracted 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+ with week-over-week audience gains among Adults 18-49 (+7% to 493,000) and Adults 18-34 (+14% to 222,000). The series also out-delivered the final week of Telemundo’s “Un Poquito Tuyo” by double-digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+35% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+35% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+41% adv.).
    • At 9 p.m., “Juntos, El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca” delivered 853,000 Total Viewers 2+, 354,000 Adults 18-49 and 150,000 Adults 18-34 in its premiere week. It also outperformed The CW’s entire primetime original line-up consisting of “Bulletproof,” “Hypnotize Me,” “Mysteries Decoded,” “Pandora,” “The Outpost” and “Two Sentence Horror Stories” among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
    • At 10 p.m, “Sin Miedo a la Verdad” averaged more Adult 18-49 (+2% to 393,000) and Adult 18-34 (+4% to 165,000) viewers than the prior week, positioning Univision among the top-rated broadcast networks in the weeknight 10 p.m. hour with +9% audience advantage over CBS among Adults 18-34.
  • With special live coverage of “Copa de Campeones” featuring Atlanta United FC vs. America, Univision out-delivered ABC and The CW on Wednesday night among Adults 18-34. The game drew in 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+ with year-over-year audience growth to the network’s 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. time slot from the comparable Wednesday last year among Adults 18-49 (+21% to 623,000) and Adults 18-34 (+10% to 240,000). It ranked among the top 10 programs on all of broadcast television with more Adult 18-34 (240,000) viewers than the entire original primetime line-ups on ABC (“Press Your Luck,” “Card Sharks” and “Match Game”) and The CW (“Bulletproof” and “Hypnotize Me”) as well as first-run episodes of NBC’s “The InBetween” and FOX’s “BH90210.” “Copa de Campeones” also made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network on Wednesday night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo in the key Adult 18-49 demographic (+13% adv.).
