Univision Outperforms ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX Every Night Last Week, Finishes Ahead of FOX For Third Straight Week in Primetime Among Adults 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of July 29, 2019 to August 4, 2019
- Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every single night last week among Adults 18-34 and on five out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.
- For the third consecutive week, Univision out-delivered FOX and The CW in primetime to rank among the top 5 broadcast networks for the entire week with Adults 18-34.
- On Saturday night, Univision captured the No. 2 broadcast network ranking for the entire night, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX over the last three weeks among Adults 18-34. The Liga MX soccer match between America and Tijuana drew in 947,000 Total Viewers 2+, 431,000 Adults 18-49 and 178,000 Adults 18-34, making it the second and fourth most-watched program on broadcast television with the respective 18 to 34 and 18 to 49 demographics. America vs. Tijuana also averaged more Adult 18-49 (+6% adv.) and Adult 18-34 (+21% adv.) viewers than FOX’s coverage of “PBC Fight Night-Kownacki vs. Aerreola” as well as propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+ (+40% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+13% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+10% adv.).
- Univision finished ahead of the CW for the 45th consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season during primetime with 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 434,000 Adults 18-49 and 175,000 Adults 18-34.
- Airing weeknights at 8 p.m., “La Reina Soy Yo” averaged 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 446,000 Adults 18-49 and 189,000 Adults 18-34 and made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo’s “Un Poquito Tuyo” among Total Viewers 2+ (+44% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+30% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+26% adv.). The series also drew in more Adults 18-34 than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” and “Reef Break;” CBS’ “Blood & Treasure,” “Elementary,” “Instinct” and “The Good Fight;” NBC’s “The InBetween;” FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance;” and The CW’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of “Big Stage,” “iZombie,” “Jane The Virgin,” “Masters of Illusion,” “Pandora,” “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” “The Outpost,” “The Hundred” and “Whose Line Is It Anyway.”
- In its premiere week, Univision’s “Sin Miedo a la Verdad” attracted 1.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 408,000 Adults 18-49 and 160,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned it among the top-rated broadcast networks during the weeknight 10 p.m. hour, outperforming CBS by +37% among Adults 18-34. “Sin Miedo a la Verdad” also delivered more Adult 18-49 and Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as ABC’s “Reef Break;” CBS’ “Blood & Treasure,” “Instinct” and “The Good Fight” as well as The CW’s “iZombie,” “Pandora,” “The Hundred” and “The Outpost.”
- On Sunday night, Univision’s “Aquí y Ahora” increased its audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+31% to 1.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+57% to 421,000) and Adults 18-34 (+50% to 143,000). With year-over-year audience growth of +66%, the newsmagazine also outperformed the first-hour of Telemundo’s “MasterChef Latino” from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. by +20% with the key 18 to 49 demographic.
