Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of June 3, 2019 to June 9, 2019
- On Sunday night, Univision captured the No. 2 broadcast network ranking, outperforming ABC, CBS, FOX and The CW for the entire night among Adults 18-34 with special live coverage of “Selección Mexicana.” The soccer matchup between Mexico and Ecuador drew in 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+, 979,000 Adults 18-49 and 435,000 Adults 18-34, making it the second highest-rated soccer match across any network in 2019 thus far, regardless of language among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers 2+. Not only did the sports event double the network’s audience levels in the 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. time slot from the comparable Sunday last year but it also ranked as the second and sixth most-watched program on broadcast television with the respective Adult 18 to 34 and 18 to 49 demographics. Mexico vs. Ecuador also propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television on Sunday night with doubled the audience levels of Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- Univision finished ahead of The CW during primetime for the 37th consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season with 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 453,000 Adults 18-49 and 183,000 Adults 18-34.
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
- Univision’s “La Reina Soy Yo” delivered 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 460,000 Adults 18-49 and 198,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in the weeknight 8pm hour for the fourth consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo’s “Un Poquito Tuyo” among Total Viewers 2+ (+33% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+27% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+25% adv.). The series also averaged more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as CBS’ “Blood & Treasure,” “Elementary” and “The Code;” NBC’s “The InBetween;” as well as The CW’s “Burden of Truth,” “In The Dark,” “IZombie” and “Jane The Virgin.”
- Univision’s weeknight series, “La Reina Soy Yo” (460,000), “Silvia Pinal Frente A Ti” (408,000) and “Por Amar Sin Ley” (381,000) outperformed The CW’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of “Big Stage,” “Burden of Truth,” “In The Dark,” “IZombie,” “Jane The Virgin,” “Masters of Illusion” and “My Last Days 3.3” with the key Adult 18-49 demographic.
