Univision Delivers Primetime Audience Growth as Network Finishes Among Top 5 on Broadcast Television for Second Straight Week with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

- With special live coverage of the first leg of the 2019 Liga MX Clausura Final between Leon and Tigres, Univision captured the No. 1 broadcast network ranking, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW on Thursday night among Adults 18-34 as well as finished ahead of NBC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-49. The soccer match delivered 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+ and ranked as the No. 1 and No. 2 program on broadcast television with Adults 18-49 (961,000) and Adults 18-34 (360,000), respectively. It also made Univision the top-rated Spanish-language network for the entire night, out-delivering Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+6% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+14% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+2% adv.).
- On Sunday night, Univision’s live broadcast of the second leg of the 2019 Liga MX Clausura Final in which Tigres claimed the championship title over Leon, drew in 2.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 989,000 Adults 18-49 and 432,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision among the top-rated broadcast networks for the entire night, in first-place among Adults 18-34, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW and in second-place among Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC and The CW. The sports event was also the No. 1 program on broadcast television and drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television on Sunday night with doubled the audience levels of Telemundo among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- Univision finished ahead of The CW in primetime for the 35th consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season with 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 555,000 Adults 18-49 and 226,000 Adults 18-34. Last week also marked the second straight week that Univision placed fifth across all broadcast networks during primetime with both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- Univision has consistently increased its primetime audience in the last two consecutive weeks with week-to-week audience gains among Adults 18-49 (+4%) and Adults 18-34 (+13%).
- Univision also delivered audience growth (+9%) during primetime from the comparable week in 2018 while ABC (-14%), CBS (-23%), NBC (-14%), FOX (-17%) and The CW (-43%) all reported audience declines with the key Adult 18-49 demographic.
- For the second consecutive week, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime, out-delivering Telemundo among Adults 18-49 (+8% adv.) and Total Viewers 2+ (+11% adv.).
- Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
- From Monday through Friday, Univision delivered week-over-week audience growth in primetime among Total Viewers 2+ (+6% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+7% to 577,000) and Adults 18-34 (+12% to 236,000).
- At 8 p.m., “La Reina Soy Yo” attracted 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 533,000 Adults 18-49 and 223,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo’s “Un Poquito Tuyo” among Total Viewers 2+ (+45% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+48% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+30% adv.).
- At 9 p.m., “La Rosa De Guadalupe” increased its audience from the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (+9% to 1.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+13% to 547,000) and Adults 18-34 (+30% to 235,000) than the prior week. It also averaged more Adults 18-49 than first-run episodes of such English-language dramatic series as CBS’ “Ransom,” NBC’s “Blindspot” and The CW’s “In The Dark,” “Jane The Virgin” and “The Hundred.”
- At 10 p.m., “Por Amar Sin Ley” delivered its highest-rated weekly performance in its current second season with double-digit week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+15% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+25% to 556,000) and Adults 18-34 (+39% to 224,000).
- Univision’s weeknight series, “La Reina Soy Yo” (223,000), “La Rosa De Guadalupe” (235,000) and “Por Amar Sin Ley” (224,000) averaged more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “American Housewive,” “Black-ish,” “Bless This Mess,” “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” “The Fix” and “The Kids Are Alright;” CBS’ “Blood & Treasure,” “Elementary,” “Life in Pieces,” “Ransom,” “Seal Team” and “The Code;” NBC’s “Blindspot,” “The Enemy Within,” “The Good Girls” and “Village;” FOX’s “Paradise Hotel;” as well as The CW’s “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Dynasty,” “In The Dark,” “IZombie,” “Jane The Virgin” and “The Hundred.”
