Univision Delivers Week-Over-Week Primetime Audience Growth for Second Straight Week Across All Key Demos; Finishes Ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX on Five Out of Seven Nights with Adults 18-34
- On Saturday night, Univision outperformed CBS (+54% adv.) and FOX (+48% adv.) by double-digit margins for the entire night among Adults 18-34. The live coverage of the Liga MX matchup between Tigres UANL and Guadalajara (Chivas) drew in 862,000 Total Viewers 2+ and ranked as the fifth and sixth most-watched program on broadcast television among Adults 18-34 (157,000) and Adults 18-49 (414,000), respectively. The sports event also propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the sixth consecutive Saturday night among Total Viewers 2+ (+30% adv.) and Adults 18-49 (+36% adv.) as well as for the third consecutive Saturday night Adults 18-34 (+23% adv.).
- Univision finished ahead of The CW during primetime for the 32nd consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season with 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 521,000 Adults 18-49 and 192,000 Adults 18-34.
- For the second consecutive week, Univision delivered week-over-week audience growth in primetime among Total Viewers 2+ (+3% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+7% to 521,000) and Adults 18-34 (+8% to 192,000).
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on five out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
- Monday through Friday, Univision increased its primetime audience from the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (+4% to 1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (+10% to 545,000) and Adults 18-34 (+12% to 202,000).
- At 8 p.m., “Jesus” delivered week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+2% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+6% to 541,000) and Adults 18-34 (+10% to 201,000), making Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double-digit audience advantages of +11% over Telemundo across all Viewers 2+.
- At 9 p.m., “Rosa De Guadalupe” attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+9% to 1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (+19% to 587,000) and Adults 18-34 (+17% to 220,000) than the previous week. The dramatic series also drew in more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Bless The Mess,” “For The People,” “The Fix” and “Whiskey Cavalier;” CBS’ “MacGyver,” “Man With a Plan,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Ransom,” “Seal Team,” “The Code” and “The Red Line;” NBC’s “A.P. Bio,” “Abbys,” “Blacklist,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Good Girls” and “Law and Order: SVU;” FOX’s “Proven Innocent” and “The Cool Kids;” as well as The CW’s “Arrow,” “Charmed,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Dynasty,” “In The Dark,” “IZombie,” “Jane The Virgin,” “Riverdale,” “Supergirl” and “The Hundred.”
- At 10 p.m., “Por Amar Sin Ley” averaged its highest-rated weekly performance with 1.3 million Total Viewers and increased its audience week-over-week among Adult 18-49 (+5% to 507,000) and Adults 18-34 (+7% to 184,000). It also positioned Univision ahead of ABC in the 10pm hour, outperforming it by +25% among Adults 18-34.
- Averaging over half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, Univision’s weeknight series, “Jesus” (541,000), “Rosa De Guadalupe” (587,000) and “Por Amar Sin Ley” (507,000) out-delivered first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as CBS’ “Ransom” and “The Red Line;” FOX’s “Proven Innocent” and The CW’s “Arrow,” “Charmed,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Dynasty,” “In The Dark,” “IZombie,” “Jane The Virgin,” “Riverdale,” “Supergirl” and “The Hundred.”
- For the second consecutive Sunday, Univision captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+49% adv.) and Adults 18-49 (+48% adv.).
- “ Aquí y Ahora” delivered double-digit week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+35% to 1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (+36% to 518,000) and Adults 18-34 (+23% to 178,000), marking the second week of consecutive audience growth. The primetime news magazine also attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+40% adv.) and Adults 18-49 (+49% adv.) than Telemundo’s first hour of “Exatlon Estados Unidos.”
- “Pequeños Gigantes” increased its audience from the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (+10% to 1.7 million), Adults 18-49 (+22% to 625,000) and Adults 18-34 (+22% to 235,000). The kids talent competition series also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television in the 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot, outperforming Telemundo by +36% among Adults 18-49 and +46% among Total Viewers 2+. “Pequeños Gigantes” also averaged more Adult 18-34 and Adult 18-49 viewers than The CW’s entire original primetime programming lineup ( “Supergirl” and “Charmed”) for the third consecutive Sunday.
- “Crónicas” delivered 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+ with week-over-week audience gains among Adults 18-49 (+2% to 463,000) and Adults 18-34 (+3% to 146,000), making Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network during the 10pm hour for the second straight Sunday with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+74% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+89% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+26% adv.).
