“Por Amar Sin Ley” Leads Univision to Victories Over ABC, CBS, NBC and Telemundo Among A18-34 During Wednesday 10 p.m. Timeslot

Univision Finishes the Week Among Top 5 Broadcast Networks in Primetime Among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers 2+

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of April 8, 2019 to April 14, 2019

  • For the 29th consecutive week since the start of the 2018/2019 season, Univision has out-delivered The CW in primetime among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Univision ranked as the No. 5 broadcast network during primetime with 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+ and 505,000 Adults 18-49.
  • Univision also finished as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime, outperforming Telemundo for the 24th consecutive week among Total Viewers 2+ (+13% adv.) and for the 3rd consecutive week among Adults 18-49 (+3% adv.).
  • On Wednesday night, Univision’s “Por Amar Sin Ley” averaged its highest audience levels in its current second season with 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 576,000 Adults 18-49 and 226,000 Adults 18-34. The dramatic series also positioned Univision as the No. 1 broadcast network in the 10pm hour with double-digit audience advantages over ABC (+24% adv.), CBS (+44% adv.), NBC (+49% adv.) and Telemundo (+19% adv.) with the young 18 to 34 demographic.
  • Univision’s weeknight series, “Jesus” (188,000), “Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia” (200,000) and “Por Amar Sin Ley” (166,000) attracted more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Speechless;” CBS’ “Madam Secretary,” “Ransom” and “Seal Team;” NBC’s “A.P. Bio,” “Abbys,” “Blacklist” and “Blindspot;” FOX’s “Proven Innocent” as well as The CW’s “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “In The Dark,” “Jane The Virgin” and “Roswell New Mexico.”
  • Saturday night’s live coverage of the “Liga MX” matchup between Morelia and Guadalajara (Chivas) drew in 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 519,000 Adults 18-49 and 195,000 Adults 18-34 and made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night, outperforming Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+14% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+17% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+9% adv.). Not only did the soccer match deliver double-digit audience growth in the second hour compared to the first hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+17%), Adults 18-49 (+25%) and Adults 18-34 (+27%) but it also finished as the fifth and eighth most-watched program on broadcast television with the respective 18 to 34 and 18 to 49 demographics.
  • For the fourth consecutive Sunday, Univision captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+33% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+36% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+16% adv.).
    • “Aquí y Ahora” delivered 1.0 million Total Viewers 2+ and increased its audience from the prior week by +13% among Adults 18-49 (411,000) and +6% among Adults 18-34 (136,000).
    • “Pequeños Gigantes” averaged 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+ with week-to-week audience gains among Adults 18-49 (+14% to 700,000) and Adults 18-34 (+1% to 256,000). The kids talent competition series ranked among the top 10 most-watched programs on broadcast television with more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of CBS’ “God Befriended Me,” “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “Madam Secretary;” and NBC’s “World of Dance” and “The Good Girls.” “Pequeños Gigantes” also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television during the 8pm to 10pm time slot for the fourth consecutive week, outperforming Telemundo by double-digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+54% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+58% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+45% adv.).
    • “Crónicas” attracted 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 547,000 Adults 18-49 and 182,000 Adults 18-34. With week-to-week audience gains of +7%, the news program also drew in more key 18 to 49 viewers than Telemundo’s airing of “La Voz” head-to-head in the 10:15 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. time slot (+20% adv.) as well as its entire telecast from 8:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (+25% adv.).
