“Premio Lo Nuestro” Bolsters Strong Primetime Lineup to Double-Digit Week-Over-Week Audience Growth, Driving Univision to Top 5 Broadcast Finish for Entire Week

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of February 18, 2019 to February 24, 2019

  • For the entire week, Univision delivered week-over-week audience growth during primetime among Total Viewers 2+ (+9% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+11% to 641,000) and Adult 18-34 (+16% to 261,000).
  • Univision finished as the 5th most-watched broadcast network in primetime, outperforming The CW for the 22nd consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season with 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 641,000 Adults 18-49 and 261,000 Adults 18-34. This also marked the 8th consecutive week that Univision held the fifth-place network ranking on broadcast television during primetime with both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
  • On Saturday night, with its live coverage of “Sábado Futbolero,” Univision ranked among the top 5 broadcast networks, outperforming CBS (+44% adv.) and FOX (+81% adv.) among Adults 18-34. Preceded by America vs. Lobos BUAP which drew in 841,000 Total Viewers 2+, 391,000 Adults 18-49 and 175,000 Adults 18-34, Pachuca vs. Guadalajara (Chivas) retained and increased this overall lead-in audience by +23% with 1.0 million Total Viewers 2+ and finished as the third and fourth most-watched program on broadcast television with Adults 18-34 (235,000) and Adults 18-49 (548,000), respectively.
  • Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on four out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
  • For the 8th consecutive week, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Adults 18-49 (+23% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+15% adv.) as well as for the 17th consecutive week among Total Viewers 2+ (+35% adv.).
  • From Monday through Friday, Univision increased its primetime audience from the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (+16% to 1.8 million), Adults 18-49 (+20% to 751,000) and Adults 18-34 (+20% to 301,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during weeknight primetime with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+58% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+41% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+34% adv.).
    • At 8 p.m., “Jesus” averaged 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 564,000 Adults 18-49 and 219,000 Adults 18-34, out-delivering Telemundo’s second hour of “Exatlon Estados Unidos” by +25% among Total Viewers 2+ and +2% among Adults 18-49.
    • At 9 p.m., “Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia” delivered 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 621,000 Adults 18-49 and 242,000 Adults 18-34. The dramedy also averaged more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as ABC’s “The Rookie;” CBS’ “Hawaii Five-0,” “Macgyver,” “NCIS: New Orleans” and “Ransom;” NBC’s “Blacklist;” FOX’s “Proven Innocent” and “The Gifted” as well as CW’s “Legacies.”
    • At 10 p.m., “Amar A Muerte” has consistently outperformed Telemundo’s “El Baron” in the last four weeks by double-digit margins with 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+ (+79% adv.), 631,000 Adults 18-49 (+54% adv.) and 221,000 Adults 18-34 (+30% adv.).
  • On Thursday night, Univision captured the No. 1 broadcast network ranking for the entire night, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-34. The three-hour live broadcast of the 31st annual “Premio Lo Nuestro” attracted 2.8 million Total Viewers 2+ and outperformed the entire original line-up on FOX (“Gotham” and “The Orville”) as well as first-run episodes of ABC’s “How To Get Away With Murder,” CBS’ “S.W.A.T.,” NBC’s “Will & Grace” and “Law and Order: SVU” and The CW’s “The Legacies” among both Adults 18-49 (1.3 million) and Adults 18-34 (595,000). Univision was also the top-rated Spanish-language network with double to triple the primetime audience levels of Telemundo on this night among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
