Univision Continues Year-End Momentum Among Young Viewers, Outperforms One or More of Top English-Language Broadcasters – ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX – on Five of Seven Nights with Adults 18-34

Univision Crowned No. 1 Spanish-Language Network in Primetime Across All Key Demos for Full 2018 Calendar Year

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of December 24, 2018 to December 30, 2018

Last week, Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on five out of seven nights among Adults 18-34.

Univision finished ahead of The CW in primetime for the fourteenth consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season with 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 437,000 Adults 18-49, 170,000 Adults 18-34.

Univision finished 2018 as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during Monday through Sunday primetime, outperforming Telemundo for the 26th consecutive year with 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 579,000 Adults 18-49 and 243,000 Adults 18-34.

For the ninth consecutive week, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime with double-digit audience advantages of +16% over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+.

Averaging 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, Univision’s weeknight series, “Jesus,” “Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia” and “Amar A Muerte” drove it to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television, outperforming Telemundo’s “La Sultana” (+10% adv.), “Falsa Identidad” (+3% adv.) and “Señora Acero V” (+33% adv.) in the respective 8pm, 9pm and 10pm hours. “Amar A Muerte” has also out-delivered Telemundo’s “Señora Acero V” by +22% among Adults 18-49 (569,000) and +15% among Adults 18-34 (229,000) in the last nine weeks.

On Sunday night, Univision captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking for the eighth consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+14% adv.).

  • “Aquí y Ahora” increased its audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+17% to 1.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+21% to 394,000) and Adults 18-34 (+3% to 133,000). The primetime newsmagazine also out-delivered the first hour of Telemundo’s movie presentation of “Norm of the North” from 7pm to 8pm among Adults 18-49 (+34% adv.) and Total Viewers 2+ (+86% adv.).
  • The special coverage of “Premios Bandamax” attracted 936,000 Total Viewers 2+, 368,000 Adults 18-49 and 130,000 Adults 18-34. With audience growth of +9% from last year’s telecast, it made Univision the top-rated Spanish-language network during the 8:00pm to 10:30pm time slot, edging out Telemundo by +9% among Total Viewers 2+.
