Univision Delivers Highest-Rated Weekly Primetime Performance During Current 2018/2019 Season with Double-Digit Week-Over-Week Audience Growth in Key Demos

Univision Ranks as No. 1 Spanish-Language Network for Third Straight Week in Primetime, Outperforming Telemundo by Double-Digits Across All Key Demos

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of November 12, 2018 to November 18, 2018

Last week, Univision averaged its highest primetime audience levels in the current 2018/2019 season with week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+13% to 1.6 million), Adults 18-49 (+15% to 653,000) and Adults 18-34 (+22% to 275,000).

For the third consecutive week, Univision finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network in primetime, out-delivering The CW. Univision also outperformed Telemundo by double-digit margins to rank as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime among Total Viewers 2+ (+45% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+35% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+36% adv.).

Univision delivered audience growth from the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (+15% to 1.7 million), Adults 18-49 (+17% to 724,000) and Adults 18-34 (+24% to 305,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during weeknight primetime with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+49% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+43% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+47% adv.).

  • In its second week, “Jesus” attracted 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 648,000 Adults 18-49 and 257,000 Adults 18-34, making Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network in the Monday through Friday 8pm hour with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo’s “La Sultana” among Total Viewers 2+ (+42% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+43% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+45% adv.).
  • “Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia” averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 587,000 Adults 18-49 and 249,000 Adults 18-34 and drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television during the weeknight 9pm hour, surpassing Telemundo’s “Falsa Identidad” by +14% among Total Viewers 2+ as well as by +5% among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
  • “Amar A Muerte” increased its audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+3% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+5% to 590,000) and Adults 18-34 (+12% to 256,000). The supernatural series also averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+39%), Adults 18-49 (+44%) and Adults 18-34 (+38%) than the comparable week of its 10pm predecessor and outperformed Telemundo’s “Señora Acero V” head-to-head in the weeknight 10pm hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+30% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+17% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+24% adv.).

Univision’s weeknight primetime series, “Jesus,” (257,000), “Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia” (249,000) and “Amar A Muerte” (256,000) drew in more young Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Speechless” and “Splitting Up Together;” CBS’ “Bull,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “Macgyver,” “Madam Secretary,” “Magnum P.I.,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “S.W.A.T.” and “Seal Team;” NBC’s “Blindspot,” “I Feel Bad” and  “Midnight, Texas;” FOX’s “Lethal Weapon” and “The Gifted;” as well as The CW’s “All American,” “Arrow,” “Black Lightning,” “Charmed,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “DCs Legends of Tomorrow,” “Dynasty,” “Legacies,” “Supergirl” and “Supernatural.”

Averaging more than half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, “Jesus,” (648,000), “Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia” (587,000) and “Amar A Muerte” (590,000) outperformed first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as NBC’s “Blindspot” and “Midnight, Texas” as well as CW’s “All American,” “Arrow,” “Black Lightning,” “Charmed,” “DCs Legends of Tomorrow,” “Dynasty,” “Legacies,” “Riverdale,” “Supergirl” and “Supernatural.”

Thursday night’s three-hour live broadcast of the 19th annual “Latin Grammy Awards” averaged 2.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.2 million Adults 18-49 and 511,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision as the No. 3 broadcast network for the entire night, out-delivering CBS, NBC and The CW among Adults 18-34. The telecast attracted more Adult 18-49 and Adult 18-34 viewers than the entire original line-ups on NBC (“Superstore,” “The Good Place,” “Will & Grace,” “I Feel Bad” and “Law and Order: SVU”) and The CW (“Supernatural” and “Legacies”) as well as first-run episodes of ABC’s “How To Get Away With Murder” and CBS’ “Murphy Brown” and “S.W.A.T.” Univision also captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network with doubled the primetime audience levels of Telemundo on this night among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

On Sunday night, Univision’s “Nuestra Belleza Latina” delivered week-to-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+19% to 1.6 million), Adults 18-49 (+25% to 699,000) and Adults 18-34 (+29% to 275,000). The talent competition series averaged more Adult 18-34 and Adult 18-49 viewers than entire original primetime line-up on The CW (“Supergirl” and “Charmed”) as well as outperformed first-run episodes of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars: Juniors” and CBS’ “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “Madam Secretary” among Adults 18-349. “Nuestra Belleza Latina” also positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the second consecutive Sunday with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo during the 8pm to 10pm time slot (+33% adv.) and for the entire night (+39% adv.) with the key Adult 18-49 demographic.

Univision’s Sunday night news programs, “Aquí y Ahora” (563,000) and “Crónicas” (593,000) increased their Adult 18-49 audience levels by +21% compared to the prior Sunday, marking their highest-rated performance in the current 2018/2019 season thus far. “Aquí y Ahora” also averaged its highest-rated telecast of the season among Total Viewers 2+ (1.4 million) and Adults 18-34 (225,000). With week-to-week audience gains of +80%, “Crónicas” made Univision the No. 2 broadcast network during the Sunday 10pm hour, ahead of ABC, CBS and Telemundo among Adults 18-34 (294,000) while also outperformed Telemundo’s “Don Francisco Te Invita” by +35% among Total Viewers 2+ (1.2 million) and +71% among Adults 18-49 (593,000) for the seventh consecutive week.
