Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of September 24, 2018 to September 30, 2018

For the fifth consecutive week, and the first week of the 2018/2019 broadcast season, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime, outperforming Telemundo by +6% among Total Viewers 2+.

Also, for the week, Univision finished ahead of The CW during primetime with 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 551,000 Adults 18-49 and 240,000 Adults 18-34.

For the second consecutive Sunday, Univision captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+55% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+65% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+54% adv.).

  • The live coverage of Liga MX’s El Súper Clásico between América and Chivas drew in 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+ and 876,000 Adults 18-49, making it the second most-watched regular season club soccer match in the 2018 calendar year thus far.
  • Airing at a special time from 9pm to 11pm, the second telecast of the eleventh installment of “Nuestra Belleza Latina” averaged 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 669,000 Adults 18-49 and 275,000 Adults 18-34. Univision also outperformed ABC during the Sunday 9pm to 11pm time slot and the entire night among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

Univision increased its weeknight primetime audience from the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (+3% to 1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (+2% to 552,000) and Adults 18-34 (+6% to 241,000).

  • In the weeknight 8pm hour, “El Rico y Lázaro” delivered 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, positioning Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the 49th consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages of +22% over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+. The epic series also averaged 623,000 Adults 18-49, and delivered +7% week-to-week audience gains to 257,000 Adults 18-34 viewers – the latter being more than first-run episodes of CBS’ “Blue Bloods,” “Bull,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “MacGyver,” “Murphy Brown” and “S.W.A.T.” as well as CW’s “Burden of Truth,” “Masters of Illusion,” “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” “The Outpost” and “Whose Line Is It Anyway.”
  • At 9pm on Monday-Friday, “Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia” attracted 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+ and out-delivered The CW’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of “Burden of Proof,” “Masters of Illusion,” “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” “The Outpost” and “Whose Line Is It Anyway” among both Adults 18-49 (562,000) and Adults 18-34 (245,000).
  • At 10pm on Monday-Friday, “La Piloto II” increased its audience week-to-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+3% to 1.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+8% to 472,000) and Adults 18-34 (+22% to 220,000). The series also delivered more young Adults 18-34 to the time-slot, up +8% from the comparable week in 2017.
