Univision Outperforms Telemundo for 35th Consecutive Week in Primetime Among Total Viewers 2+

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of July 2, 2018 to July 8, 2018

Last week, Univision finished ahead of CW during primetime with 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 465,000 Adults 18-49 and 187,000 Adults 18-34.

Univision also ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the 35th consecutive week with an audience advantage of +19% over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+.

Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights among Adults 18-34 for the fourth consecutive week.

Airing weeknights at 8pm, “El Rico y Lazaro” averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 502,000 Adults 18-49 and 194,000 Adults 18-34 while also positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in the time-period, surpassing Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+62% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+15% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+5% adv.).

On Friday night, Univision captured the No. 2 broadcast network ranking during the 10pm hour, ahead of ABC, CBS and NBC among Adults 18-34 with the finale of “Por Amar Sin Ley,” which delivered over half-a-million Adults 18-49 (667,000) and 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+. The novela was also the third most-watched program on broadcast television with more Adult 18-34 (267,000) viewers than the entire original line-up on ABC (“Quantico,” “What Would You Do?” and “20/20”), FOX’s live coverage of “Big 3 Basketball” as well as the first-run episode of CW’s “Masters of Illusion.”

For the second consecutive Saturday, Univision finished as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night, outperforming Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The three-hour airing of “Rosa De Guadalupe” delivered an average audience of 872,000 Total Viewers 2+, 361,000 Adults 18-49 and 159,000 Adults 18-34. The dramatic series also consistently increased its audience throughout the entire night with double-digit gains in the last hour compared to the first hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+35%), Adults 18-49 (+48%) and Adults 18-34 (+50%).

Univision’s two-hour finale of “Al Final Todo Queda En Familia” attracted 789,000 Total Viewers 2+, 285,000 Adults 18-49 and 124,000 Adults 18-34 as well as drove it to a first-place finish on Spanish-language TV with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo during the 8pm to 10pm time slot and for the entire night. The family-oriented game show consistently increased its audience throughout its two-hour broadcast with double-digit audience growth in the last half-hour compared to the first half-hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+30%), Adults 18-49 (+49%) and Adults 18-34 (+79%). “Al Final Todo Queda En Familia” also drew in more Total Viewers 2+ (+32% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+1% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+4% adv.) than Telemundo’s biopic series “Luis Miguel, La Serie” head-to-head in the 9pm hour.

Univision’s “Crónicas” averaged 961,000 Total Viewers 2+ with audience gains among both Adults 18-49 (+3% to 421,000) and Adults 18-34 (+52% to 165,000) compared to its prior telecast as well as propelled it to the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking during the Sunday 10pm hour, outperforming Telemundo’s “Don Francisco Te Invita” by +18% among Total Viewers 2+, +33% among Adults 18-49 and +32% among Adults 18-34.
