MIAMI – JUNE 15, 2021 – Today, Univision announced “Premios Juventud” 2021 (PJ/Youth Awards) nominations that will celebrate the “Youth Leading Change in Culture.” This year’s 160 nominees reflect the diversity and global growth of Latin music, and recognizes artists using their star power to drive change. The awaited summer youth awards show will welcome back a live audience at the Watsco Center in Miami on Thursday, July 22 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Univision.
“This year, we are thrilled to bring summer’s most awaited celebration, ‘Premios Juventud,’ a platform that entertains, inspires, and empowers youth,” said Ignacio Meyer, SVP of Music, Nonfiction and Development at Univision. “We made history as the first live music awards show during the pandemic and now, we are excited to bring back a live audience to our show that will feature Latin music’s hottest stars, emerging artists, and honor remarkable individuals making their mark in the community and around the globe.”
Alejandra Espinoza, Univision’s personality and host for this year’s “Nuestra Belleza Latina,” will be one of the show’s main hosts, with other hosts scheduled to be announced at a later date. Borja Voces, “Noticiero Univision Edición Digital” and “Primer Impacto” anchor, will bring the latest from backstage. The popular pre-show “PJ Takeover” will be hosted by actor and singer Gabriel Coronel, host of “Sal y Pimienta” Jomari Goyso, “Enamorándonos’” love correspondent Roberto Hernández, “El Gordo y la Flaca” co-host Clarissa Molina, and actress Fátima Molina.
Camilo and Karol G lead the “Premios Juventud” nominations with 12 each. They are followed by J Balvin and Maluma (11 nominations), Daddy Yankee, Los Dos Carnales, and Myke Towers (9 nominations), and Christian Nodal and Natti Natasha (8 nominations). For the complete list of nominees and to vote for their favorite artists and influencers, fans can visit PremiosJuventud.com as well as the Uforia app. The voting period begins today and will remain open until June 28.
“Premios Juventud” now in its eighteenth year, will continue to recognize our youth and artists leading change with the prestigious “Agent of Change” award. Also featured will be the stories of young community leaders advocating for change as a spotlight on social issues throughout the night’s event.
Keeping with the theme of change in culture, #PremiosJuventud added 14 new categories, they include:
- Best Regional Mexican Collaboration, recognizingthe best collaboration among regional Mexican artists
- Best Regional Mexican Fusion,recognizing the best collaboration by a regional Mexican artist as well as an artist from a different genre
- Best Regional Mexican Song, the fans’ favorite songwithin this genre
- Best Album Regional Mexican
Other categories include: Youth Artist Female / Youth Artist Male, fans will get to vote for their favorite artist, regardless of music genre; Group or Favorite Duo, fans will also get to vote for their favorite band or duo, regardless of music genre; Viral Track of the Year, to celebrate the tunes that became popular due to social media; Song of the Year, the best songs of the year, regardless of genre; Album of the Year, the best pop, urban, and tropical albums; Tropical Mix, the best song with tropical collaboration; Girl Power, the best collaboration between two or more women; Social Dance Challenge, the most popular dance challenge on social media; and Helping the Fans, recognizing the artist who consistently uses social media to help others.

MIAMI –15 DE JUNIO DE 2021– Univision anunció hoy las nominaciones a “Premios Juventud” 2021, que celebrará a “los jóvenes que lideran el cambio en la cultura”. Los 160 nominados de este año reflejan la diversidad y popularidad internacional de la música latina, destacando a los artistas que usan su influencia como estrellas para impulsar cambios. El esperado programa veraniego de premios a los jóvenes volverá a darle la bienvenida a una audiencia en vivo desde Watsco Center en Miami el jueves, 22 de julio a las 7 p.m. Este/Pacífico en Univision.

- Mejor Canción Regional Mexicana, la favorita de los fans en este género
- Álbum Regional Mexicano Del Año
Entre otras categorías: Artista de la Juventud Femenino / Artista de la Juventud Masculino, en la que los fans podrán votar por su favorito, independientemente del género musical; Grupo o Dúo Favorito, en la que también podrán escoger su banda o dúo preferido de cualquier género musical; Track Viral del Año, para reconocer a esas canciones que se hicieron populares gracias a las redes sociales; Canción del Año, las mejores composiciones del año, independientemente de género; Álbum del Año, los mejores discos pop, urbanos y tropicales; Tropical Mix, a la mejor colaboración tropical; Girl Power, la mejor colaboración entre dos o más mujeres; Social Dance Challenge, el más popular desafío de baile en redes sociales; y Ayudando a sus Fans, para homenajear a un artista que usa las redes sociales constantemente para apoyar a otros.
