Univision News to Host “Destino 2020: Votar es Poder” (Destiny 2020: Voting is Power) Digital Town Hall on the Latino Vote with U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders and Former Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro
MIAMI – SEPTEMBER 21, 2020 – Univision News announces its “Destino 2020: Votar es Poder” (Destiny 2020: Voting is Power) digital town hall on the Latino Vote with former presidential candidates U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders and formerSecretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro, to be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET.
There are 32 million eligible Latino voters in the United States, the largest nonwhite voting bloc in the nation. Exactly six weeks away from the November 3 U.S. presidential election, Univision’s town hall will focus on the importance of the Latino Vote and on how the presidential candidates are doing with this important segment of the electorate who’s vote can determine the race for the White House.
Univision News Anchor Arantxa Loizaga will moderate the event. She will be joined by distinguished guests Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Julián Castro and panelists with expertise at national, state and local politics and campaigns. Both Senator Sanders and Former Secretary Castro and their campaigns will talk about their experience in Latino voter outreach and engagement.
The “Destino 2020: Votar es Poder” Town Hall is part Univision’s comprehensive political coverage its commitment to provide the Hispanic community the news and information they need about the candidates, their platforms, and the campaign trail, so they can make informed decisions. It is also part of Univision’s recently launched #VotaConmigovoter registration campaign.
The town hall will be held in English with simultaneous Spanish-language translation.

MIAMI – 21 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 2020 – Univision Noticias anuncia el foro digital “Destino 2020: Votar es Poder” sobre el voto latino con la participación de dos excandidatos presidenciales, el Senador de EEUU Bernie Sanders y el ex Secretario del Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano (HUD por sus siglas en inglés) Julián Castro, el cual se llevará a cabo este martes 22 de septiembre de 7 p.m. a 8 p.m. ET.
Hay 32 millones de votantes latinos elegibles en los Estados Unidos, el bloque de votantes no blanco más grande de la nación. Exactamente a seis semanas de las elecciones presidenciales estadounidenses del 3 de noviembre, el foro de Univision se centrará en la importancia del voto latino y en cómo les va a los candidatos presidenciales con este importante segmento del electorado, cuyo voto puede determinar la carrera por la Casa Blanca.
La presentadora de Univision Noticias Arantxa Loizaga moderará el evento. A ella se unirán los siguientes invitados distinguidos: el Senador Bernie Sanders (I-VT), el ex Secretario de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano (HUD), Julián Castro y panelistas con experiencia en política y campañas electorales a nivel nacional, estatal y local. Tanto el Senador Sanders como el exsecretario Castro y sus campañas hablarán sobre su experiencia en la buscar y obtener el voto latino, y su relación con la comunidad hispana.
