Univision Continues to Outperform Telemundo by Double-Digits in Primetime Among P2+, A18-49 and A18-34

Univision Finished as the No. 1 Spanish-Language Network Across Key Demos and No. 3 Overall Broadcast Network, Ahead of ABC, CBS and NBC on Saturday Night Among Adults 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of June 4, 2018 to June 10, 2018

Last week, Univision captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking during primetime, surpassing Telemundo by double-digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+39% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+13% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+12% adv.).

Univision also outperformed CBS and CW to rank as the No. 4 broadcast network in primetime for the entire week with 236,000 Adults 18-34 as well as finished as the fifth and sixth most-watched broadcast network, ahead of CW with 567,000 Adults 18-49 and 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, respectively.

For the second consecutive week, Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every single night among Adults 18-34.

Averaging over half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, “El Rico y Lázaro” (637,000) and “Papá a Toda Madre” (661,000) positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo during the respective weeknight 8pm (+47% adv.) and 9pm (+38% adv.) hours, marking the thirty-first and twenty-eighth consecutive week that Univision outperformed Telemundo across these two time-slots, respectively.

Univision’s “Papá a Toda Madre” increased its audience from the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (+10% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+9% to 661,000) and Adults 18-34 (+16% to 281,000). The series also delivered more Adult 18-34 viewers than the first-run episodes of ABC’s “The Crossing;” CBS’ “Code Black,” “Elementary” and “Ransom;” NBC’s “Reverie” and “Taken;” FOX’s “Ghosted” as well as CW’s “Life Sentence,” “Supergirl,” “The Hundred” and “The Originals.”

With double-digit week-to-week audience growth of +11%, Univision’s weeknight 10pm series “Por Amar Sin Ley” averaged more Adults 18-49 (622,000) and Adults 18-34 (245,000) than the original airings of such English-language dramas as CBS’ “Ransom;” NBC’s “Reverie” and “Taken” and CW’s “Life Sentence,” “The Hundred” and “The Originals.”

On Saturday night, Univision finished as the No. 3 broadcast network for the entire night, ahead of ABC, CBS and NBC among Adults 18-34. Its three-hour broadcast of the “2018 Premios TV y Novelas” drew in more Total Viewers 2+ (+44% to 962,000), Adults 18-49 (+25% to 339,000) and Adults 18-34 (+33% to 140,000) to the networks’ 8:00pm to 11:00pm time slot from the comparable Saturday in 2017. The award show also ranked within the top 10 most-watched programs on broadcast television among Adults 18-34 and drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language TV, out-delivering Telemundo by +10% in the key 18 to 49 demographic.

Sunday night’s two-hour airing of “Al Final Toda Queda En Familia” on Univision attracted 1.0 million Total Viewers 2+ with week-to-week audience gains among both Adults 18-49 (+7% to 406,000) and Adults 18-34 (+8% to 191,000). The family-oriented game show outperformed Telemundo’s “Luis Miguel, La Serie” head-to-head in the 9pm hour by double-digit margins among Total Viewers 2+ (+66% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+33% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+91% adv.).

For the last two consecutive weeks, Univision’s Sunday night news programs of “Aquí y Ahora” and “Crónicas” consistently increased their Adult 18-49 audience levels with double-digit audience gains of +18% (495,000) and +44% (551,000), respectively compared to the prior Sunday. “Crónicas” also made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network during the Sunday 10pm hour with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo’s “Don Francisco Te Invita” among Total Viewers 2+ (+77% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+77% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+81% adv.).
